The thread that just won’t die.
To be fair to the OP, I think his question has been answered at this point.

It’s always the sneaky ones. I keep thinking “no way there are 2000 comments about cars” and “no way the grill brush thing has been on the front page for 3 days and stayed on topic” damned if I was wrong on both lol.JohnInCarolina said:This is why you really do have to read all of the threads on this forum.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -
It’s not on the menu, but order the Papa’s Bacon-bacon-bacon pizza. Regular or thin crust. Canadian bacon-sausage-peppered bacon- w/3 cheese blend. It’s AWESOME on a Friday night with a craft beer. You don’t have to stick to the menu. They will put anything you want on a pizza (in stock ingredients). I change it up every week!

I'm sure you are right but when I buy all of the ingredients for a pizza, I spend a lot on the cheese, pepperoni, sauce, etc... There is always leftover product though.JohnInCarolina said:
I was thinking about the same this morning. I am pretty sure I could make one for quite a bit less than $10, on a per-pizza basis. But I haven't bothered to do the calculation to figure out what it would be.Legume said:

I doubt that $10 pie is an actual loss leader for Papa Murphy's.Northern Colorado Egghead since 2012.

Right that’s what I meant by not bothering to do the calculation. So say the bag of shredded cheese cost $3 but you only used 1/3 of it for the pizza - then your per pizza cost for cheese is only $1. You’d have to figure this proportion out for all ingredients to estimate the real food cost to make the pie. It can be done of course but it’s kind of a pain if you really want to have a good estimate.QDude said:

Well, that’s because they wipe with their left. They’re left to have to eat with their “unclean” hand. So the whole thing adds insult to injury, on several levels.SamIAm2 said:

I went to a pizza shop and asked for in stock toppings and the teenager looked like I was dumb. That's how queens are made? All of a sudden queen Latifah makes a whole lot of sense. Up until now I really wondered how she got to be a queen at all. Maybe the kid was just putting some fromunder cheese on the pizza?

I doubt that $10 pie is an actual loss leader for Papa Murphy's.I can tell you I use $2.16 in cheese. Beyond that I use a sourdough starter my neighbor gave me, Bread flour (thanks for the rec, so far so good on elasticity) tomato sauce is grown in the garden and canned in the fall, I have been using chorizo I made at home, home grown garlic, store bought onions currently.South of Columbus, Ohio. -
I gotta say, I don’t think I’ve made a pizza any cheaper than 14 bucks. The fresh mozzarella alone is nearly half that…and I have no interest in learning to make it.XL BGE, Large BGE, Small BGE, Weber Summit NGMemphis
