The thread that just won’t die.

To be fair to the OP, I think his question has been answered at this point.

It’s always the sneaky ones. I keep thinking “no way there are 2000 comments about cars” and “no way the grill brush thing has been on the front page for 3 days and stayed on topic” damned if I was wrong on both lol.

It’s not on the menu, but order the Papa’s Bacon-bacon-bacon pizza.  Regular or thin crust.  Canadian bacon-sausage-peppered bacon- w/3 cheese blend. It’s AWESOME on a Friday night with a craft beer.

You don’t have to stick to the menu. They will put anything you want on a pizza (in stock ingredients).  I change it up every week!

I never saw the appeal of Papa Murphy's. They cost as much as a pizza baked for you, but you have to cook yourself like a frozen pizza. I'll go with Pizza Hut or Digiorno's.  Now if I got it for free, sure.
The $10 deal on Tuesdays is great - large pizza with up to 5 toppings.  I can't make one for that price.
These days $10 is a great deal.
I wonder what their cost on that is if they can sell for $10.
I was thinking about the same this morning.  I am pretty sure I could make one for quite a bit less than $10, on a per-pizza basis.  But I haven't bothered to do the calculation to figure out what it would be.

I doubt that $10 pie is an actual loss leader for Papa Murphy's.
I'm sure you are right but when I buy all of the ingredients for a pizza, I spend a lot on the cheese, pepperoni, sauce, etc...  There is always leftover product though.

That’s why I never send a meal back to the kitchen, or complain it’s not right.  They screw with your food, and when it comes back to your table the cook staff is all watching (and laughing) you eat it!

Right that’s what I meant by not bothering to do the calculation.    So say the bag of shredded cheese cost $3 but you only used 1/3 of it for the pizza - then your per pizza cost for cheese is only $1.  You’d have to figure this proportion out for all ingredients to estimate the real food cost to make the pie.  It can be done of course but it’s kind of a pain if you really want to have a good estimate.

Was your day in Saudi Arabia?  Because they chop off body parts for crimes, if you are lucky.

What is the punishment if you steal in Saudi Arabia?
Theft (stealing in secret) is punished by the amputation of the offender's right hand, and armed or highway robbery may be punished by execution, crucifixion, or amputation of hands and feet from opposite sides of the body, depending on the severity of the offense.

Saudi's eat with their right hand. That punishment effectively bans the thief from eating at any communal  meal.

Well, that’s because they wipe with their left. They’re left to have to eat with their “unclean” hand.  So the whole thing adds insult to injury, on several levels.

I went to a pizza shop and asked for in stock toppings and the teenager looked like I was dumb.  I guess they had supply chain issues, thanks brandon

new england greek style pizza, this ones not so greasy.....since theres no papa murphys here, can this be done in the egg.  the trick is to float the crust in oil so the bottom fries, pull it out of the pan and finish on the stone :D

That's how queens are made? All of a sudden queen Latifah makes a whole lot of sense. Up until now I really wondered how she got to be a queen at all. Gives new meaning to the term coronation balls.

Maybe the kid was just putting some fromunder cheese on the pizza?

I can tell you I use $2.16 in cheese.  Beyond that I use a sourdough starter my neighbor gave me, Bread flour (thanks for the rec, so far so good on elasticity) tomato sauce is grown in the garden and canned in the fall, I have been using chorizo I made at home, home grown garlic, store bought onions currently.

  • I gotta say, I don’t think I’ve made a pizza any cheaper than 14 bucks.  The fresh mozzarella alone is nearly half that…and I have no interest in learning to make it.

If your egg takes 45+ minutes to reach pizza cooking temp, the lump could cost more than the toppings? just wondering 🙄
