Saved $310.  Cut last one into 2" steaks, got 8 out of it.  Averaging $6 for a 2" thick New York Strip.  Steaks were decent quality, not SRF, but absolutely worth the price of admission.

Is Frys in the Kroger family of stores?
Yup!  Worth seeing if you have some local.  Took two stores to find them.
Well, I struck out at the two nearest Kroger brand stores. Maybe next year.
    Awe dang, that sucks.
We have a Smith’s Marketplace (think Super Walmart of grocery stores) nearby. I thought for sure they would have some. Their beef section was pretty bare. No roasts at all.

    @alaskanassasin - Thank you.
If you can’t force defrost, likely the board 47-102684-14 around 60.00 online ( confirm pn) also check defrost thermostat, if it doesn’t think there is ice there, it won’t defrost

@lkapigian - That is very useful info for me, I appreciate you taking the time to provide it.  My unit calls for a different suffix in the p/n, 47-102684-83.  About $70. for the board along with temp sensors for ambient and coil.

@lkapigian - I am getting ready to order the new defrost board.  When time allows can you help me with a point of confusion?  My heat pump is a Rheem RPQL-024JEZ, manufactured 05/2010.  Rheem has a footnote on their parts page stating:
"Replacement Defrost Boards for units produced before date code 2310 include Ambient and Defrost Sensors with the Replacement Defrost Board Kit. For JEZ units produced after date code 2310 the defrost function is integral with the main control board, and Ambient and Defrost Sensors should be ordered separately. Note: Date Codes are approximate."
I do not know how to decode date code 2310 to an actual date.  Am I thinking right that since I have a Main Board and separate Defrost Board my unit was made before date code 2310?

Edit to add, new board has a 3rd relay on it...
    47-102684-83 - Defrost Control Board

Just saw this , if not to late, I’ll get you the exact PN in th am when I’m at my shop
@lkapigian - It's not too late.  Thank you for looking into this when time allows.
*edit to add, when I tried to force the defrost operation by depressing SW1 for one second, the 7-segment display showed error code "-".  Troubleshooting chart says that is ICC (Integrated Compressor Control) mis-operation and suggests to check the ICC relay.

Installed a 4x8 overhead storage rack above my side of the garage. It was a pain in the as a one person job. It’ll free up some space, that’s for sure.

Did the same (and also solo) a few years back. They are very handy. Was storing my tires up there.
  • seeing the doctor tomorrow for the annual. got my blood pressure down to 109/63 over the summer/fall while on bp meds. the last couple months off the meds it crept up tp 115/66 and is holding. pretty sure ill get scolded tomorrow but the numbers look good to me. beats 185/107.  took the summer and most of the fall on the wagon to get things healing up, no tonic water, cream or sugar in the large daily coffee or two, lost some weight, and the heavy fatigue is gone. im not even sure i need the cpap right now.....she told me when the systolic is under 110 i could drop the meds, pretty sure she meant we will discuss it ;) we shall see.....
Good for you fish. I literally take 14 medications a day. On top of that whole mess, I get Remicade infusions from my nurse once a month at home, and then I self inject Methotrexate at home once a week. They take my blood readings every three months. I have no idea what my blood pressure is but I have so many specialists that I'm sure if it went wonky someone would tell me. Last week I fell on the sidewalk downtown, face first, broke some ribs, damaged one of my replacement hips, and broke my thumb, luckily my recently repaired ankle survived, although it probably contributed to my fall. I fall like that about once a year, because I think I'm lifting my foot up enough but I'm really not. Also, this morning I noticed that my hair is thinning in the front and that sucks more than anything, because it reminds me of my father's hairline, and he once beat the crap out of me on Thanksgiving day, three feet away from a perfectly roasted turkey. I don't want to be that guy, so we have ham on thanksgiving now.

With cheerio to 2023 it’s’ the last round of PL matches - and it’s shaping up to be a league that no-one wants to win.  We’ve had new names amongst the upper echelon and a good rotation of pole sitters along the way. Not sure what else you guys have panned for 2024 but it will take some beating to distract you from the remaining 19 games.

Here we go, fuelled only by five digits worth of excess calories this week.

    Saturday

Luton v Chelsea, the Hatters have two wins on the bounce and the Chels sneaked past Palace with a last minute penalty, mid-week.  Should be an away win but the dream is alive for Luton so they will fight hard. 1-2

Aston Villa v Burnley, can Villa be disappointed with third spot, having been so close to being top? The Clarets will be fearing Luton and all the others pulling further away as a home win seems almost certain. 3-0

Palace v Brentford, Oh dear.  The safe option looks like becoming the worst option as Roy’s farewell season could end in ignominious style. 8 without a win plus defats to similar and lower placed teams usually spells doom for managers. Long fancied Steve Potter in the wings, too.  The Bees are off 4 straight defeats, usually that ends for any team when they visit Selhurst.  This match feels big. 1-1

Man City v Sheffield Utd, even a big win doesn’t take Citeh back to the top, but the game in hand might - so this piece of AOB needs attending to with minimal fuss. 4-0

Wolves v Everton, back to back wins have brought the glow back to the Old Gold, while two defeats for the Toffees has dampened spirits, but confidence sustains. Away win could see Everton up to 14th and the point deduction firmly forgotten.  But this game screams stubborn and it’ll be 1-1.

Forest v Man Utd, the hosts found a win under new man Nuno last time out, and Utd managed a win - too. Oddly hard to call because neither team are worth betting the farm upon, or even trusting with the change from your shopping. 1-1

    Sunday

Fulham v Arsenal, and again the Gunners slip just as they seem to be getting to grips with being table topping regulars, this time inviting the Hammers to take all three points.   Fulham with three straight defeats under their belt are ripe for the taking to help keep this title race very much open. 0-2

Spurs v Bournemouth, Spursy Spurs are back back back. Two goals in the last ten minutes only halved the deficit against the filthy fetid Seagulls last night, who are naturally the world’s greatest team now - according to the sports press.   The Cheeries will not fear this trip after fore straight wins. Goals ahoy and just for fun I am saying 2-3.

    Monday

Liverpool  v Newcastle, Toon have one win in five and are in danger of losing their bearings this season. The Reds sit two points clear and will bring the noise for this one. 2-1

    Tuesday

West Ham v Brighton, the Hammers are looking good for sixth right now and welcome the very future of all things football. Tight contest and recent form suggest a narrow home win but somehow it feels another draw. 2-2.

There you go chaps, and a week off as it’s the third round of the FA Cup next week.

My cousin Billy had miracle berries that poppa said he kept in his shorts. I'm thinking he had something sour in his shorts and was trying mask it, just in case someone wanted to taste his shorts. I couldn't ask poppa though because after he told me my cousin Billy had miracle berries in his pants, he laughed so hard it sounded like he was going to caught up a lung.
