Over this weather though.  I am behind on a second pass of fertilizer on my wheat and chemistry pass. Also I was planting beans April 18 last year, seems like the cold and rain will not let up. Amarite Midwesterners?

@Ozzie_Isaac - I'll try to help get the page moved. Seems most of my posts end up at the bottom of that 30 post per page thing. Here goes.

Got an e-mail early this morning from the Tile Guy. Wanted to know if this coming Monday would be good for me for them to start the tile job. You have to know that was one of the fastest response times ever for me.

So with that work on the near horizon I had a few things to get done first. Started with protecting the light switches and power outlets.
Took all the cover plates off and taped over with painter's tape. These are Decora plates that SWMBO just had to have. Light switch (big rocker switch) on left and power outlet. Painter's tape goes around the back and sides so the electrical connectors should not be affected.

Same type switch at top, electrical outlet on the right.
Switched outlet at the bottom of the wall.

Of course I had to protect the ceiling from over spray.
This picture was taken from inside SWMBO's closet.

Next up is mixing the mud to spray Orange Peel Texture on the big wall and the two small side walls. Never done this before but I have a small compressor, a borrowed hopper gun, and a need to get this done today. Reading the box for the mud it indicates that I need to mix it and let it set for 15 minutes and then add a little water to make it a thinner mix for the Orange Peel texture.
Plenty of time to get ready for bees

    @Ozzie_Isaac -
this is where I probably should have stopped and used my best tools (wallet and telephone).

Mixed up the mud per instructions on box and let it sit for 15 minutes. The box made 1 a 1/2 gallons of mix which was way more than I needed - but I took care of that problem first thing.

Didn't realize how heavy that bucket was and while trying to add mud to the hopper gun I spilled about half of it on the floor. So the mud had more time to set up while I cleaned up the spill. No photo I can share of that but the image of all that mud on the floor is indelibly etched in my noggin.

I am spraying this on already textured and painted walls plus all the newly mudded large wall so when it is painted again it should look close to the original; I think. Small left side wall section shown above.

The remainder of the left side wall.

    Small right side wall.

The large wall with all the patches, top left portion.

Large wall , bottom left portion.

    Top right side large wall.

Bottom right side large wall. This part has some runs that I will sand and redo with a spray can of Orange Peel texture when it is all dry and the tile is in.

It isn't terrible for a first attempt at this but it can and will be better. Paint will covers a multitude of sins, but a large strategically placed, framed piece of art work might be a better choice. As long as I don't put a nail thru a copper water pipe trying to hang it.

Good grief, dude. You trying to win an award for longest quote?

Extremely nice, but not an exotic, it is a GMC Yukon Denali, and it is my wife's car.  I had nothing to do with getting it. She left in the morning with a 4Runner and came home with the Denali.  Also, AZ tags are extremely expensive.

We’re in to the autumn of the PL season. Large chunks of the table is falling in to place but the title is still two horse race - as is the final relegation spot with Everton holding the slender advantages of a game in hand, one one more point and Burnley having just sacked their manager, sprit guide, mentor and talisman Sean Dyche.    Spurs and Arsenal are jousting for 4th with its associated Champions League spot, but that’s a peculiar battle of which is the least noncommittal as neither sides’ results really pressing home their claim.

Arsenal V Man Utd, next season’s new manager announced by Utd - the 4th in a calendar year is the big news amongst the Red’s obsessed media.  Won’t help in this match though will he? 2-1

Leicester v Aston Villa, Stevie G reunites with his former boss Big Bren and his lovely teeth.  The hosts have little to play for and Villa have slumped.  1-1 and nothing to remark upon.

Man City v Watford, 4-0 and the rotten Hornets are all but sunk.  Yay!

Norwich v Newcastle, the visitors are now safe due to an exceptionally bland and benevolent Palace performance mid-week.  All thoughts amongst the Toon will be about who survives the player cull in the Summer as even more 100’s of millions are spaffed to lure in the Galactico level talent that infinite wealth permits.  The hosts will make game of it, at least a draw but ultimately too little too late. 1-0

Brentford v Spurs, the first time Eriksen has faced his former club since his cardiac arrest so it will be emotional - and he’s in fine form too.  No push over this for Spurs. 2-2 and honours even.

    Sunday

Brighton v Southampton, the ‘South Coast derby’ with no tension, atmosphere or purpose.  Who cares? Nothing in it for either team 1-1.

Burnley v Wolves, first run out for the The Clarets without Sean Dyche - much akin to that first solo drive after passing your test.  Will they pottle along at snail’s pace or go doo-lally and park up the first available tree?  Would love to see a fighting performance from the home team to keep pressure on Everton.  1-0 (heart over heard)

Chelsea v West Ham, Blues are still a bit it skittish although very likely to snag 3rd place.  Hammers fighting hard on the PL and Euro fronts.  They’ll be up for this and could be the game of the weekend.  A hurly burly 3-2.

Liverpool v Everton,  despite the significance of this derby the Reds are simply light years aheard of the Toffees.  Were this at Goodison Park then potentially something in it for Everton, but frankly they could well get smashed by this time out.  3-0.

    Monday

Palace v Leeds, couple of mis-steps recently by Palace so they aren’t yet on 40 points.  Leeds have enjoyed a long break and are forming up well under the new manager.  Some bite and snap in this one with the effervescent home crowd pushing the Eagles all the way.  Probably 1-1 but hoping for the home win and the final three points for this season’s jig-saw puzzle.

That’s your lot this weekend. However, in the more civilised realm over in the noble game it seems to be a batsman’s paradise so far this season.  Decent pitches and good weather combining for a spate of double tons in the last round of the County Championship.  The England set-up remains in disarray and soon the myriad one-day matches commence, to much bamboozlement for everyone

Been dealing with a respiratory issue since Wednesday morning. Apparently Tennessee people have cooties.
Fun (gross) fact. Cooties are a real thing. I was reading To Kill a Mockingbird and one of Scout's classmates was sent home for having cooties. I immediately grabbed my trusty old Webster's and low and behold

    cootie

     noun

    coo·tie | \ ˈkü-tē  \

    Definition of cootie

It’s the start of my weekend. Sitting in the living room, drinking some coffee and listening to the wind. Good first week with my new trainee. I got into a minor kerfuffle with a guy that didn’t really want to listen to what I had to say. The kid jumped right in and we got the situation deescalated and ol’ buddy detained without anyone getting hurt.
Glad to hear it is working out, and you didn't end up with a pencil stuck in your neck.

I saw that picture! I don’t know any of the backstory though. Always have to control the hands.
