Nice!  We have looked into getting vaccinated here, but not eligible yet.  Hopefully soon.

I found they do not verify eligibility here in Ca....They just check you ID , not what you do for a living

I put myself as healthcare Industry  ( technically my company is in Senior Care Homes a lot, that was my spin ) , had my appointment the next day ( yesterday ) Valid ID, shot that was it ..If it was slammed here with people getting Vaccines I would not have done that, but our Mass Vaccine Centers are Empty, mine was done at a Walgreens Drug Store

@lkapigian - What do you think are the main reasons the vaccine centers are not being utilized?
BTW- I don't know about you but for me, when the first shot went into my arm I had quite a feeling of relief, even more than I anticipated.

Me as well @lousubcap and no idea why, only though we are a large farming area, and the workers account for the majority of our positive cases and most of those workers just don't believe in Vaccines of kind... Our county is 500,000, As of today, Total Hospitalized is 54 total active cases 726 50,354

Hispanic Population account for 76.3 % of our cases

I received a text yesterday from a colleague, who said that he'd heard one of the Duke hospitals was giving the vaccine to any Duke faculty members.   He'd heard from someone whose wife teaches on campus and had received an email.  The husband also went, even though he hadn't received the email, and was relaying that they were only asking to see IDs.

Neither of us decided to go ourselves, as we hadn't received the email, and something just didn't feel right about it.

This morning I was in a meeting with leadership with the school of medicine here, where they announced that the vaccines are only for faculty who are teaching in person on campus, which makes more sense.  I do go on campus from time to time to retrieve something, but I'm not teaching, and so I'll just wait until my demo comes up.  Hopefully it won't be much longer than a couple of months.

I decided to swing by my shop on the way home.  They are filming something in that area and the production company wanted to rent my parking lot for an emergency response team (fire truck, police) for a couple days.  They were doing some big pyrotechnic scene and that stuff was needed on standby.

$250/day to park in my lot.  I told them stay as long as you want.

Anyway, gave the firemen and cops a tour of the shop and hung out and talked to one of the guys for a long while - he knows many of the same people I know through the NOLA motorsports track complex.

The vaccine was drive-through.  Painless.  Had to wait 15 minutes for an adverse reaction before I could drive off.

Pfizer.  Next shot is on the 25th, same time and place.
Did you need to be switched off & back on again like all the other Microsoft products?  =)
Other girls may try to take me away

Our state, and many others, have a long list of co morbidities that can make you eligible for the Covid vaccine between 18 and 65. Including: smoking, overweight, asthma, heart disease, reduced immune system function, learning disabilities. Today I gave the supervisor at the local Whataburger the phone number of an office right down the road that was offering the J & J shot. Since she was a smoker and several of her employees were I saw a chance to get the people that make food vaccinated.

Thanks, oldest will go to school tomorrow for Kindergarten. My dad will pick him up and run the bus route. I’ll be in the office at 4am.

It’s the 4 year old heathen ( I mean my darling angel daughter) that concerns me. Have some feelers out for a play date within our tight circle. Hoping that plays out. Momma can have the house to herself and rest

I am trying to figure out how to gain new patrons (at least once) at the Friday Zoom/Speakeasy sessions.  Reaching out to potential headliners on my budget has't gotten any traction.  Feel free to offer up suggestions.
The best neighborhood pub/tavern going, complying with all CDC guidelines doesn't set the hook.
So, if you have read this far, give it a go at least once-you just may enjoy the camaraderie.  You will definitely enjoy the time invested.
Friday night (3/5) doors open 9 PM (EST)-details in a thread below.  Give it a shot!

Brother Cap I tried calling in several times last Friday night. I could not connect. I heard a few others say the same thing.

    The season rumbles on. Man City have a growing number of hands on the prize, Liverpool are in total capitulation mode and although some fight remains at the bottom the serious relegation candidate list is dwindling.   We are still unwinding earlier postponements so a long ‘weekend’ again;

    Saturday

Burnley v Arsenal, the hosts need the points and the visitors need a purpose. 1-1 at best, could be an awful match.

Sheff Utd v Southampton, with Saints performing like a swimmer in concrete Speedos there is a risk that both these teams drop out the PL.  The Blades will fancy this as a face saving points opportunity. 1-0.

Aston Villa v Wolves, two inconsistent teams with the hosts feeling rosier about life.  They will be without their talisman, Jack Grealish, so this promises little as entertainment. 1-1

Brighton v Leicester, the Foxes will be aiming for a business like collection of three points here to nudge them towards Europe next year.  The filthy Seagulls have offered great hilarity to us all by obdurately refusing to win or even score a goal.  Well done and long may it continue.  0-2

Stoke v Wycombe Wanderers - who are, it turns out, my local team. The Potters will be eager to reverse 3 defeats since I put the hex on them by suggesting a run on the play-off places.  Soz @Eoin but then again mid-table mediocrity is the essence of life, right?   2-1

    Sunday

West Brom v Newcastle, A Big Sam, he’s a manager who has never been relegated but might be losing his cherry soon unless the Baggies really, really perk up.  A win against Toon is conceivable and almost obligatory. 1-0.

Liverpool v Fulham, relegation threatened Fulham are the form team in this one against Champions Liverpool. A result for the west London dandy’s seems improbable but it’ll really spook Brighton.  Although it would be just like Jurgy;s lads to whack ten past them.  3-1.

City v Utd, kind of redundant now with Pep’s gang on a major roll.  They conceded a goal last time out, which was just a glitch in the matrix.  2-0.

Spurs v Palace - Palace have been skilfully executing an anti-football strategy recently, striving for bore draws to assure safety.  Sadly nest up it Jose’s apathetic gang of individuals wearing matching kit who line up against the mighty Eagles. 0-0.  Please let it end.

    Monday

Chelsea v Everton - the season can’t end until Everton are 7th,  that’s the law.  They are currently 5th so we need to play a few more games until that’s resolved.  With luck Tommy T’s super(again)Blues will win and we can draw a veil over an interminable season asap. 1-0

West Ham v Leeds, the mysteriously successful Hammers will be too good for the formerly effervescent Leeds who are ‘regressing to the mean’,  i.e finding their level after a disproportionately good start. 2-1

    Wednesday

Man City v Southampton,  Pep Roulette is poison for fantasy football managers because of his appetite to rotate the full squad of international superstars.  He will for this match, City will win and I’ll get a string of zero returns despite it being double game week.  Thanks Pep. 3-0

And finally, I found this while actively participating in a Zoom meeting this morning....

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF0fp-jk6oc

Love this.  Although I think Tottenham will find the net a couple of times against your Eagles.  2-0.

Fortunately for you, I'm usually wrong when I quibble with your predictions.

And I wish I didn't agree with your prediction on the Manchester derby.  That really has potential to go sideways for United.  Although a 0-0 draw wouldn't surprise me either.
