Bottom inner rim of a bamboo steamer basket came loose and interfered with stacking (unless it's at bottom of stack). Fixed it with split butcher string and handmade cobbler's awl hooker. Not pretty but does the job.

First world problem, third world tool😊
Btw, didn't bother googling whether food safe adhesives exist, since I have the tool, supply and time to stitch.

Built another table last night for the hell of it.  I had some wood left over from Bridget's sewing table.  I have the other half of the granite top.  Will probably put some wheels on it.
    Really like the leg taper.

    Winning at poker.  Twice!

A year ago I got an offer to get a digital sub. to The Washington Post, one year for $29, and I took it.  Got an email saying they would be renewing this March for $99, unless they heard from me.  I called them, said I was now retired, and I'd renew for $30, but not $99.  They countered with $50, I said, "No, I can get The NY Times for $30, I'll just go with them this year".  End of call.  Get an email from them a few days later, reiterating the $50 offer.  My digital access was supposed to be cut off on the 3rd, I still had it yesterday.  Also, yesterday, I got an offer for another year, $29.  They blinked, and I'm renewing!

Same thing with SiriusXM.  I wrote to them and told them I'd renew for $5/mo, but no more than that.  They didn't respond, and my XM was cut off.  Two weeks later, I get a letter from them, I could reactivate Account #3587blabla, for $5/mo for the next year, and get a free Echo Dot.  I'm tempted to call them and counter-offer: $5/mo for the next TWO years, they can keep the Dot.  I know from past times that they keep you on the phone for 40 minutes while they "check with their supervisor", and I don't have much patience for that.  Still, they blinked, and I'm renewing.

    Today is a good day.

@WeberWho, 2nd cook on it.  Did some beef ribs a couple of weeks ago.  I've also assisted @The Cen-Tex Smoker on a couple of brisket cooks in the past.

I was amazed at the amount of grease that came out of it - both during the cook, and afterward (even after I thought I had cleaned it).  It took me some time to clean it off the driveway and the garage floor.  So we're using a foil lined drip pan today.

    I'm open for some pointers.

    I'm open for some pointers.

The inventor of the KBQ designed it so that when using the included wheels and on a level surface the chamber is slightly sloped towards the front so that grease will drip out of the two front corners at the door. He suggested placing a drip pan on the ground right in front. He designed it that way so that an internal drip pan would not be necessary and wouldn't hamper air flow inside the chamber.

Some folks use one of these to lay under/across the front- https://www.amazon.com/Winco-SPJL-2HL-Steam-Pan-2-Inch/dp/B001VZ6XUY

My KBQ is mounted on a table so there is no wheel/slope to the chamber so I use a shallow steam pan in the lowest possible rack. Personally I try to avoid using disposable items when I can so I never bother with lining it with foil as the pan is smooth and the grease easily pours or is wiped out.

Today about 3:00 PM. We’ll cook the first pizzas at 6:30. Probably have some appetizers before - maybe bacon wrapped dates.

Just got home and the wife is on her way back from hiking in St. George. She calls and asks where the registration and insurance is. Only one reason she would call to ask me that. Luckily it was one of our rural resident guys that made the stop.

Three martinis in before prepping dinner so got a little outside the box. Middle child is out of town, wife and oldest at a soccer tourney and it’s just me and my youngest son.  We went farm pond fishing this morning with little success. Costco, Yard work, car washing, some b-ball and a hike made for a solid day. Grilled filets, brats and asparagus which is pretty normal. Saw the pesto in the fridge and thought it would be good on the grilled asparagus- yep

    Fork for bonus points-
My son is still too young to do such activities with, but reading your post makes me excited about these years ahead.

I also agree with @HeavyG with a drip pan on one of the lower racks.

Oven cleaner, magic eraser, and a hose can make cleanup fairly quick.

This might be worth grabbing if yours didn't come with one.

Thanks @WeberWho.  I'm still working on my technique.  I do have one of those thermometers.  It comes in very handy.
