I hate hiring people.  Wife hired a designer to redesign the house interior.  So far everything she has picked out has not worked and we ended up picking our own furniture.  Latest fiasco is  lights and fans.  Thankfully I was the one doing the install becaue the fans do not have the correct down rods, the colors on the various light fixtures do not match and basically it all is a major down grade.  Very unhappy at the moment, but at least I didn't line up an electrician.  First world problems to be sure, but still aggravating.
As the husband of an interior designer, I’m sorry. Like anything else, some folk’s taste is only in their mouths

I am not sure if the issue is communication or expectations.  My issue is not with the profession, I have seen some amazing work, just has not panned out this go around.  Hopefully we can get is sorted out.  Just finding a designer was hard right now.

Sent a relatively new tech to one of the sororities we manage. He's a young, ambitious 24 year old. He just sent me an email thanking me for sending him. LOL...not gonna lie; visiting the female Greek houses are usually fun

Awesome place to meet naive vapid conformist wanna-be social climbers from upper middle income America for meaningless post adolescent sex.  I'm sure he's happier than Scottie in a large vat of anus.

Idiot forklift operator of my tenant manages to hit a 4 inch diameter schedule 40 main sprinkler line. Destroyed all the couplings in a 30 yard radius. Sprinkler line is 3 inches below roof. Dumb ass would have carved a whole in the roof if he hadn’t hit the sprinkler.

Will be around a 15k repair

Recalling that even today "The mail must get thru" as I received a post card mailed from Buenos Aires Argentina air mail and arrived today 3/8/21-mailed on 3/12/2020.  So, if you have been wondering where that snail mail thing is...it may show up next year!

Just helped my parents sign some tax documents electronically.  Easy if you know how to work all the technology, but much less so if you don’t.

Technological knowledge is definitely something people take for granted and don’t always see how hard things are for those who either weren’t around it until later in life or for those who don’t have consistent access to the internet.

I bought my parents iPhones about a decade ago and helped them out with learning smartphones. Then my grandparents got iPhones and I still help my grandmother out on a regular basis. Patience is key!

My father is convinced that tech companies are in some global conspiracy whose main objective is to rob the elderly of their life savings.

I’m not entirely convinced that he’s wrong...
