No fasteners?  Except for the fasteners that existed in the timber prior to starting?
Festool Dominos (floating tenons) and some old fashioned mortise and tenon.  I just glue those, I don't try end-gluing anything anymore unless it's epoxy.

I put a few 16 gauge finish nails in the tenons to hold them during glue-up.  I normally don't but I was in a hurry.  I'll lock tenons in with dowels if I need it extra strong like a BGE table.

This type of joinery lasts a lifetime versus pocket screws.  (pocket screws are great for some things, tho).

It pays to carry a mortgage here. Property taxes will kill you without the mortgage exemption. Time to take a mortgage out with rates being as cheap as they are :)

We have a "homestead exemption" which essentially gives you a 75k credit on your property tax, regardless of the mortgage or lack of one.  You just need to own the property and you only get to pick one property if you have multiple.

Seems like the mortgage requirement is a gift to banks.

Likely the “hulk” or less likely the “Kermit”.   The hulk was discontinued this year and is selling about 60% over retail on the used market. Good time for your friend to sell if he doesn’t love it.

Guess we know the cost of a soul.

I kid, I kid*.  Nice of your friend to help, and nice of the general to care enough to help his son.

*This is assuming the legal trouble did not involve dead bodies or violence.

I'll ask.  I managed to get a vaccine appointment for Thursday (surprised me).  So I gave my buddy/neighbor/brisket camp lawyer (with the watch) a call to gloat.  But before I could even tell him, he told me he's pretty sure he has the virus.

He's waiting on the test results from Monday morning.  Sounds like he has most of the symptoms.  He and his wife are some of the most careful people I know.  Just goes to show you can still get it wearing a mask and watching the hand hygiene....scary because epidemiologists are crapping their pants right now with the highly contagious variants becoming dominant.  Might very well be one of those variants.

He's feeling bad fighting it in a dark room and the bath room (yes, that's a common symptom).  Feel for him.  Wife not symptomatic.  She's wearing a mask in the house and sleeping in another room.

Personal taxes seem really complicated in the US.

That's tough news @nolaegghead.  Just reinforces for me all the reasons to get the vaccine as soon as you can along with following all the other guidelines.  This thing is a long way from being well managed by the US, never mind the rest of the world.

Fought that one for about a year- switched to higher arch shoe inserts and then did calf stretches probably 4-5 times a day religiously. First stretch in bed before my feet hit the floor. About 30 days later the pain was gone
