Just finished my first attempt at a Duck Gumbo
Recipe with fried Blue wing teal. This was handed down from my pseudo adoptive dad while
I was at Auburn
."Pop". The man gave me his duck dog after only a few months..took me 10 years of begging to get this recipe .
I need more practice..but was a solid first effort.

Right now with super low rates real estate is a pretty solid place to stash money. The stock market is crazy and the bond yields are so low, a lot of folks are keeping cash or buying real estate.Mark_B_Good said:

OK, I get it in terms of diversifying capital ... but WHERE is the money coming from .... is this all stashed cash of baby boomers? My suspicion is that Millennials are racking up debt ... interest rate is cheap (right now).Ozzie_Isaac said:

I do not know. I suspect it is a combination of reallocation of investments, movement from big cities to rural areas (or at least the suburbs), and increased buying power due to low rates. I do not think it is millenials, they said the rate of those under 30 living at home is higher than ever.Mark_B_Good said:

Add in low inventory and anything that comes up for sale moves quickly and for a good price.
In my area a few of the large builders doing tract homes have stopped new builds. The price of materials are going up so fast and they are behind on builds from the lockdown they will not accept new contracts. Yearly yard hole patching. Squirrels bury their acorns and whatnot, which is no big deal, may even help with aeration of the soil. Trouble comes from the hounds, who dig up the squirrel stash, leaving much bigger holes. Small sample below, all told about 100 lbs of top soil and 5 lbs of seed.

Just came in from a slow but productive afternoon.
Duck Dog has really started putting two and two together on this trip and impressed. He's been marking all the birds ..even the long ones, multiple falls...and figured out (without correction) to get the cripples first.
Blind retrieves with casts were text book...I would like to thank whomever has been sneaking in my yard and training him while I've been working crazy hours. -

Southampton v Spurs : on the plus side no fans means no singing ‘Oh when the Saints’. On the negative, it’ll be a bore-fest. Fun Fact : Gareth Bale played for Southampton before Spurs. Sorry, that’s only a fact. 1-1
Newcastle v Brighton : the home team seem a smidge better than last year so far but you know a hapless meltdown is just around the corner. The dirty Seagulls are aiming for mid-table obscurity,but that might just be beyond them. Bell-weather game early on. 2-0
Chelsea v Liverpool : The reds are not as financially robust as you would assume,but they have found almost £30m for lad that runs fast and kick the ball at the goal a lot. Yes another one. Chelsea’s Super Frank has been far more enthusiastic in the market and burned through much cash. Sounds great but it’s Abramovic’s preferred method of turning up the heat on managers. Could be fun. 2-3.
Leicester v Burnley: top 4 botherers v top 6 botherers. Hard to be excited about this. 1-0. The screaming scrotum with a penalty late on.
In the championship: Stoke v Bristol City - many have tipped the visitors for success after heavy investment in their squad. Fancy the Potters to give them a touch match. 1-1.
Monday
Villa v Sheff Utd: second season syndrome risk for both teams. The hosts are still wobbly and the visitors could be found out big-time this year. 0-1
Wolves v Man City: Pep is hot off the back of failing to win the Champions League again and wouldn’t choose to open his account with Wolves this time. All results equally possible. 2-2.
I’ve just had fish and chips for my tea while drinking warm but strong beer. Can’t get much more British than that? Apart from pining for an empire, drinking tea, standing in a queue and moaning about rain. I will do each of those tomorrow.
