I wonder if they are “fat finger” flags? On my phone the flag and like buttons are aligned vertically and very close together. That’s all I can imagine - the posts in question are not controversial in any way.
I just tried to flag your post as I've never flagged anyone. It appears you have to hit the flag button and than choose the reason why you're flagging. It would be pretty hard to flag someone accidentally.

The Off Topic and Disagree button you only have to hit once. I hit those all the time on accident with my fat fingers.

I am going to say no brother Aggie. To flag someone’s post as “troll” you must hit the “flag” button and then chose from 3 options. There is no way to accidentally flag a post as troll.

Temp finally dropped below a 100, time for a ride.

It's still 103 here. Hope you had a good ride.
I did, thank you!  103 at night is no fun.  Makes me wonder how folks did it before A/C, ice, and cold beer.  I think it would lose some of the romance.

I got flagged or something on a father's day post about my children fixing up my basement office and the gift they gave me.

Some folks just seem to get their jollies doing it. I guess if that is your only activity which brings you some sort of comfort, feel free. I am glad to help you out.

Given the strict guidelines by the Buffalo, and the desire of some to stoke unrest and divisiveness within the forum, this post shall not last much longer.  It's a cryin' shame.

Now if you look you will see that this person has taken up two spaces.

Here’s the good part. One is hers. The other is mine. This person does this all the time. I’ve spoken to them about it and the truth is they literally are unable to park...

I always try to look for a upside, in this case, when they go home, they are not parking in your garage.  🙂

The fact of the matter is: stuff getting flagged is what calls the Buffalo’s attention.

The flags do annoy me, because if people have an issue with what I post here, I would really prefer they just tell me why, instead of hiding behind an anonymous flag.  For people who care about threads like this, an added bonus is that only one of these approaches draws the attention of the Buffalo.

The thing is you whined about this thread getting locked then drop your little "truth" bombs knowing anything about the Rona is politically charged right now and stand back like

I "whined" about this thread getting locked?  I don't think so.  I'm really not one of the people here who has some attachment to any thread on the forum.  They're just threads on a friggin bbq forum to me.  By the same token, I realize not everyone feels that way, and so here, today,  I am just explaining to people how this works.

As far as the current discussion around covid-19 statistics, your objection would have more weight were I the one who introduced the topic here.  I'm not.  I'm not even the first to respond to the one who did.  Personally, I think the notion that things like this have become "politically charged" is friggin ridiculous.  If people can't handle discussions of the reality of what is happening in this country right now because they've decided it's "politically charged," then I'm sorry but the problem is with them and not me.

And the funny thing is that I totally agree with you, discussion about Covid should not be politically charged and the fact that it is is absurd. You know enough about the dynamics of this forum to know that is not the reality here. I just think that if people want threads like these to survive, certain topics should not be posted in them(again, absurd) and relegated to separate threads or in obviously soon the be Buffaloed threads. We're not as far apart in thinking as it may appear, we just see things differently. Enjoy your day

thats just a polite frenchman up here, everyone else seems to be parking in the middle of the friggin road up here. yesterday i was waiting for beaks in on coming traffic to get around people, people would just park in traffic, get out and leave the doors open right in front of you. my covid rant for the day =)

I do understand the dynamics of the forum, but my point is that it doesn’t have to be that way.  This is a community and we do have some say in terms of how it goes.  Some people see things as they are and just accept them, but I’ve never been one of those people.
