Just curious if any of y’all have tried the ceramic stones from Spyderco and Norton? For the money they actually do a great job of finishing. What I like most about them is they do not require oil or water.
If any of y’all use them offer your thoughts.

The above is a 8x3 Spyderco ultra fine.

90 percent of my knives i use the 10 inch extra fine side of a dmt diamond stone. would like to pick up their extra extra fine for the fillets and my japanese 15 degree bevels but i have a big japanese wet stone for those. what i really like about the diamond stones is that they stay flat. they make a nice mag base to keep the knife edge safe as well

Probably not But the timing is there, not sure how all the Fault Lines run, we get a lot of minor ones in Ca, this was 5.8 so almost to the moderate stage , but definitely one that makes you think, immediately Cell Phones were going off from the Emergency Alert System

Interesting video to see a brisket from the begging to the end.  I wouldn't personally endorse their cooking methods, but it goes to show there is more than one way to cook a brisket.

Celebrating..as I now have a recipe for some amazing duck gumbo. Been asking for it for the past 10 years and the owner finally gave to me. Was worried it was not ever going to be passed down...
Rumor has it this gumbo was used to bribe some officials....however I can not comment or speculate further  ;)

Now I'm on the mission for a good thick cast iron skillet and a dutch oven..

I looked into the glass stones for awhile since they dont need water either but they were expensive and the stone to flatten them was more than the glass stones. How do you flatten the ceramic ones or do they need to be flattened?
Lit both of mine came extremely flat. However i have heard others on the shaving forums complain that theirs was not. Just to reiterate, mine are the 8x3's. It seems that most people that complain about them not being flat all have the smaller 8x2's.
With that said, it could of possibly of been just a bad run of 8x2's. I actually encountered that same issue with small Arkansas stones a few years ago. The large stones all were flat and square but the smaller stones had a valley in the center if looking side to side.

If you have one that is not flat, you can lap it on any large diamond plate. I have a 10” wore out DMT that I flatten all water/oil stones on. It would be what I used it the ceramic ever needed flattened

Windows 10 now has a "clipboard buffer" so you're not limited to 1 item to copy 'n paste. Hit Windows-V to see the buffer. You can also pin frequently used items, like passwords, to your clipboard.

You probably already know this but for those that dont, Naniwa Chosera stones are splash and go. They do not need soaking. It is just my humble opioion, but the Naniwa Choseras will more than give the glass stones a run for their money. They are magnesium bonded, hence the no need to soak. With only 3 stones (1000, 3000, & 8000) you can sharpen anything from breaking knives to straight razors and everything in between.

Reviewing the preliminary closing statement on the sale of an old industrial property to the local municipality. 11.5 months of work on what is a remarkably simple deal

Old industrial properties often have "hidden" issues which can potentially be very expensive to mitigate later on so it may not be quite so simple a deal as it seems.
    Preach @HeavyG

Admittedly this a first class first world problem, but in this case the subject property has a clean Phase II environmental (32 core samples drilled), all the asbestos abated, and I demoed 170k of ancient buildings. The city is literally buying 4 acres of concrete pads.

Got my 18" stone delivered from Ceramic Grill Store. Not super impressed with the quality of it - bad pits all over it and one pit looks like someone tried to fill it in with caulk. Really surprised they let it go out the store in this condition. It's the perfect size tho for the top grate so hopefully this was a fluke and they send out a replacement in pristine condition.

This would be soooo nice; and if anyone knows of a way to do it already on a Mac, I'm all ears.

@saluki2007 - thanks for brisket breaking video link.  That piece was quite informative and as you note the follow-on demonstrated the options you have to bring it home. FWIW-

There are LOTS of little apps in the app store that will do this. I've used Clipboard History for many years.
If you don't want to let your browser store any of your passwords I would suggest getting a real password keeper app to deal with all your passwords rather than just keeping them in the clipboard. I've used Enpass for many years but there are others in the app store that also have a good reputation.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker I had heard about the need to press the Children's Hospital into serving adults.  Hopefully the rate is slowing although I haven't heard of any trends and I'm not out looking for it.  However, that is a sensational enough head-line it may make the national news cycle tonight.

Sorry to hear about Franklin's but his press release reads like he gets it.

We are in an essential vertical slope with (dubious) records set every single day so no slow down on the horizon. People have given up caring and there is a large "it's all a hoax", "anti-Mask" and anti "social distancing" crowd here. It's almost as if we could have predicted this :).  58% of the new cases are now people in their 30's and younger. They are going to get their party on no matter what so I guess it's  baton down the hatches and let them have at it.

I wonder if they are “fat finger” flags? On my phone the flag and like buttons are aligned vertically and very close together. That’s all I can imagine - the posts in question are not controversial in any way.
