Attended a small concert by Craig Wayne Boyd for about 50 people at a friend’s ranch.  Got to sit on the stage/porch about 10 feet from him. He won “The Voice” in 2014. Needless to say, he has a great voice. It was a great evening.
What a great experience. For me, when it comes to music, the smaller the venue, the better. Not that interested in stadiums anymore.

P.O.'ed because it started to pour rain 5 minutes before lighting time.  was really looking forward to some burgers and fries. Daughter was pushing for me to also heat up some pecan pie.

@zaphod - the BGE doesn't care and you can only get so wet!

I take it from your post that your Egg is unprotected.

I have two Eggs on a very large cedar table in the backyard - one LBGE and one MMX. But I also keep a backup MMX on a covered front porch in the event of precipitation.

We host a lot, so this setup allows us to pivot without changing the approach altogether.

The egg is on the back deck. we have a retractable awning, but it needs about 3 days to dry out which are hard to find in PNW fall. My wife and I have plans for a covered deck and my wife's husband has plans for a MMX under the deck at one end of the table.

we rarely host. I invite, but takers are few and far between.

Hah!  Just as we put the backup plan into the oven, rain stopped and sun came out.  But we stayed inside and made witches fingers for Halloween.

Damn, that’s early!  I am hoping for a winter without too much snow.  We almost finished the outdoor winter prep yesterday.

I really can’t begin to guess at something like that.

But I think the two fellas at 8:1 both have a decent shot. 😁

Tried the new 518 Smokehouse BBQ restaurant for lunch today, located in Chapin, SC.  New favorite.  I wouldn’t drive across state lines for it, but it’s the best barbecue I’ve had outside of Lewis. Definitely the best in the midlands. Slightly pricier than typical, but much more upscale and a great “treat spot.”  Highly recommend it.

@Dyal_SC try the new Palmira on 61 in West Ashley. The beef cheeks were spectacular, immediately followed by a 2 hour nap.

Yeah I’ll have to give that a go next time I’m down that way. Never heard of that one before. Looks very nice on the website. Charleston has a lot to offer in the foodie realm.
