From the looks of that shore, I'm going to guess somewhere near Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

Got word this morning that a proposal I'd submitted to NSF has been recommended for funding by the program manager.  Not official yet, but generally a very good sign.

The proposal is to look at some of the fundamental fracture mechanics issues behind a relatively new lithotripsy technique.

Is that a fancy way of saying you're gonna shoot lasers at wieners?

This one doesn’t involve lasers or weiners, but that does sound fun.

     I think.

SWMBO says congrats and that’s a 99.9% chance of funding. Once you’re in with the NSF you’re set.

    Fail.

You posted 1 of 18 pictures.  Requisite close-ups are missing, photos I have to carefully compare to ensure you did not post duplicates are missing, etc.

    That aside.  Looks great!

And the excessive amounts while proclaiming this a 'break' from a diet are also lacking.

Got home a little earlier from our quick trip to Laguna Beach. Hotel views were amazing and we didn’t leave the room for three days. It was a nice getaway. Unfortunately, when we got home we discovered that the hotel over charged us by $1600. Somehow. When we called the hotel, we pretty much got told “oopsie.” The refund is processed and in the end it isn’t that big of a deal. Just a pretty big inconvenience and then to have the staff not act like they care. Oh well. Back to this.

Debating on rather to go eat all you can eat catfish or seafood today. Both sound really good right now.

To be fair, that pic was just outside of Baker, CA. It was considerably cooler in Vegas at 117.

If I had half your money I would just get both.
If you had half of my money you wouldn’t be getting all you can eat catfish. You would be getting half of what you can eat catfish 🤪

Relaxing. Worked 6 out of the past 7 days ...14 hours plus per day...got off yesterday morning @830 am  replaced the headlights in the girlfriend's kids car.
Drove home..did an hour of jiujitsu..laundry and stir fried some chicken. Before passing out..

Got up @ 5 this morning went down do the local duck club for a work day. Found some remnants from arrow heads....

Now about to soak aching muscles and relax....I feel some decoy carving in my future this afternoon
