Getting ready for the EURO Final.  I see where @CPFC1905 is executing the plan.  Trust @Eoin is primed as well.
Hoping for ET in this one.  Time will tell.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Debating whether or not to cart all my office stuff (monitors, etc.) from my home office back into school today.  It’s got to happen at some point, but I’m not terribly excited about it.
How’s the debate going?  Are you winning?
I ended up going in.  I brought everything into the office and set up shop again, and managed to get some work done.  It all feels a little strange after not being in for more than a year.

I think that means I lost, I’m not sure.
The lady works at the university here. She goes back to the office for the first time in a year and half tomorrow. Needless to say, I had a pretty big move today to get her place set back up.

Beautiful food, family and setting. Where in the UK are you located?

Had a great, extended trip to Bourton-on-the-Water and London a few years back (mix of business and pleasure). Hope to get back your way soon.
    Thanks.
We're in the Chilterns, which is an hour from Bourton, so the other side of Oxford & nearer to London. We hope to end up somewhere near Bourton, or maybe even further West.

Look out for Clarkson's Farm on Amazon, that will remind you even more of that area.

There's a handful of us Brits on here, so if you do plan another trip - you'll be amongst friends.
Thanks. I am in Canada. Definitely planning to go back to the UK at some point. I also have a cousin in Manchester and one of her daughters studying in London.

Bourton was just beautiful. Great photos and memories of our time there. Drove throughout the trip, including in London.

Got the eating out the way and started the drinking.  One hour to go...

First go at home made smash burgers.  Good crust from the plancha but meat was a little light on seasoning.  Smoked streaky under the steak weight for the win.

Thanks to @Stormbringer for the pork chorizo recipe.  Mine were no way as elegant - but a good option over the standard beef.

    And 100% Grandson approved.

I'm hoping you're happy with the early portion of the game.

Take some of that new NSF grant money and buy a new set for the office, now you are set up at work and home.
LOL, that’s not how it works.  That’s not how any of this works.

I'm sitting here wondering why I'm the only person who realizes that if England will sub on Jadon Sancho for Mason Mount, they will win.

I’m glad I don’t have any Italian friends, because they’d be insufferable for the rest of the year.

    You don't agree @Eoin?

I'm not saying that he is overall better - but that Sancho with fresh legs had a better shot at unlocking the Italian defense than Mount after 60+ minutes of running.

He had just missed the penalty when I posted that.

Yes, bringing on fresh legs earlier was what I expected and what should have happened. Too defensive a mindset.

I can't bring myself to read the expert analysis yet.  I don't think either side were demonstrably better or worse than the other.
Certainly we faded as the game went on and the impact substitutions just couldn't get in the game.
Noble or heroic failure just isn't the same as a grubby win though, is it?
This England team is so different to any I have watched before, I hope we go deep in the in World Cup and lay deep foundations for more regular last 4 finishes.

Absolutely.  I can't believe Mount lasted into extra time - I thought he was really poor yesterday.  I think he waited way too long for PK subs too, taking his kick was what, the 2nd time Rashford touched the ball yesterday?

England definitely has a lot of potential for Qatar, especially if Southgate can loosen the reins a bit.  It will help the youth get another year of top flight competition, and hopefully getting through qualifying will help Southgate develop the confidence to let them push forward.

As an Arsenal fan, I definitely was happy to see how well Saka played at this level.  Also think that Chiellini should have been given straight red.

A friend of mine texted me about that when it happened.  When I first saw it, I thought the same.  I have low tolerance for what I consider to be "behavioral" issues (as opposed to playing aggressively and maybe arriving late to a challenge).  But given that it wasn't an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and that it didn't endanger life or limb (like a studs up lunge into a shin) I can see how a ref would only give a yellow.

And I agree that it will be interesting to see how this England squad develop.

Damn fine looking food. If you can get it, Gloucester Old Spot pork is a good one to use to pair with chorizo for that burger. If you want to try something completely left field these are lovely:
