The email alert worked. I am gonna have to venture into their pork offerings as I have been all beef to this point. the sign says that its korker friendly so it is what it says it is. some places are a bar room, with strippers, and motel upstairs in the north country. some homes you stay in for the winter and come out in the spring when the roads open

It did indeed, Frank. I was pleasantly surprised to get a notification so quickly. not sure you could bring it back with a torch once the outside turns to rubber. will have to wait for johns cook. ive never cooked one but have bought some great sandwiches from a local place

You probably could. I think I can manage it finishing early just fine. I don’t think it would end up finishing so early where the hold would be too long. To me it’s just a question of when to get it started so that it definitely doesn’t end up finishing too late.GrateEggspectations said:@JohnInCarolina: Could you not FTC?

I've been procrastinating putting some things in a pack for the cars just in case. I took inventory of what I had and what I wanted in a good survival kit.I went to stealth angel and decided to give them a shot for the money. I fully expected it to be subpar at best. While I wouldn't want to camp with the tent or sleeping bags I think they will do what we need it for.

For ice, snow and scree, I use crampons. If this is the direction you choose to go, be sure to reach out to the shoe/boot manufacturer, and get their recommendations.Crampons are a pretty pricey investment, but worth it if you spend a lot of time hiking/climbing.
All shoes will have a couple options, and it is wise to evaluate your options.
Above 11,000 feet, it is better to have, and not need, than to need and not have. No way I go above that without when hiking/climbing remotely.
I read something recently, and will seek it out again, but in RMNP, they tend to keep records on SARs, it was like 95+%(?) of those recovered were in snow, ice or scree, without crampons."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
