Let the frenzy commence. 92 Premier League games in 40 days plus Stoke’s run-in to the end of a challenging Championship season. Are you ready?
Some FYI’s; no crowd, more substitutes, drink breaks and (mercifully) spitting is banned. Zoom screen crowds & cardboard cut-outs will happen and the pitch-see microphones will need to be set very low to filter out some of the quite industrial language which is used in the heat of contest. All teams have close to 100% fit squads, but that may count for nothing in the circumstances. There’s also a slight legal hiccup in that many players’ contracts end on 30 June, unlike the season!
What has not changed is my inability to pick the results. So depending how far along the risk continuum you sit it’s time to liquidate all assets and activate your betting accounts - or very, very much not.
Tonight :
Villa v Sheff Utd - away win 1-2.
Man City v Arsenal - if the blues lose and Liverpool win, thats the title to the Reds. I don’t see that happening. Any entertaining 2-2 would be nice.
Friday :
Norwich v Southampton - the Canaries are hanging by a thread, they might edge a result here. But only a point, 1-1.
Spurs v Man Utd - Kane is back for Spurs but Dele Alli managed to pick up a suspension while there were no games - genius! Jose will park the bus looking for a 1-0. If Utd score first it will be a lot more fun. So 1-2 away win.
Sat :
Watford v Leicester - a big away win would be nice, 0-3.
Brighton v Arsenal - if the Gunners come through tonight unscathed, they will be in better form than Brighton. The home team are just out of the drop-zone but have a perilous set of fixtures. An Arsenal win will be bad news for the dirty Seagulls - but it could easily happen 1-2.
West Ham v Wolves - away win 0-1
Bournemouth v Palace - first ever live PL game on the BBC (one for you fact fans). The home team really need points, Palace need one to be safe (technically). Should be a spirited affair and goals are likely. 2-2
Stoke v Reading - big chance for Stoke to keep their safety cushion, a win is feasible - but whatever they need to do better than the teams below them as the points spread is slender. 1-0.
Sunday :
Newcastle v Sheff Utd - The Toon remain in ownership strife with an ill fated ‘take-over’ on the rocks. More discord abounds. 1-2 away win.
Aston Villa v Chelsea - the wheels come off for Villa with a clear win for Chelsea : 0-3
Everton v Liverpool - the Merseyside Derby and if Man City have lost tonight, the perfect stage for the Reds to take the title. Emotional enough already, but this could be proper hectic. Either way, Liverpool win 0-2
Monday :
Man City v Burnley - largely academic, home win. 2-0.
Tally ho!

Just received my marble mortar and olive wood pestle. I’m pretty excited. It is next to the granite mortar and pestle from Thai Imports.I really enjoy making stuff in these things. For just 2-4 people it’s not much work and cleanup is easy.I’m looking forward to lots of pesto and aioli from this thing.

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Looks awesome. Not worried about marble not being as strong as the granite one? Been my experience that marble is pretty frail in comparisonSciAggie said:Just received my marble mortar and olive wood pestle. I’m pretty excited. If they are really closed form anti maintenance they are doing some serious maintenance for sure. Been getting that same message since last August.
On a related note, did Thai shutdown? For months when I went to their site it would not let you order. Just curious my friend. I always get this message.

I’ll use the granite mortar for pounding chili pastes, mustards, and other robust sauces or ingredients. I wanted the marble one for pestos, romesco, and aoili/mayonnaise. I’ve made both in the granite mortar - I just wanted the marble one. I’m a sucker for this kind of stuff. It’s cheaper than therapy...ColbyLang said:

A lot of the local ranchers have started offering 1/4, 1/2, whole shares due to COVID. Processors/butchers are backed up until mid 2021 so that's not much help. lolIt's a 4 hour drive to Columbus and I have a meat saw

Made some copycat chickfila nuggets for dinner. Think I nailed to texture but the flavor was lacking something. Didn’t brine in pickle juice this time. May try that next time as that’s what we did when I worked at chickfila in high school. The sides are what happen when you have young picky children.

I remember 30 years ago I took a nine month old lamb to a local slaughter house. I was just one so I hogtied it’s feet and tossed it into the pickup bed. When I got there I started to take my rope off but the guy told me to wait. He put it on the floor , grabbed a 22 and shot it. Then he grabbed a knife, bled it , hung it up by a hook, and had a bare empty carcass in about 5 minutes. Now he did let it hang in a fridge for a couple of days before further processing. My rope looked like it came from a crime scene though.HeavyG said:nolaegghead said:alaskanassasin said:We tried to schedule the butchering of a cow and they said they are backed up until May of next year.
