New cases, total cases, active cases, and deaths seem to be the most reported stats, but # of hospitalized cases doesn't seem to be. That number would likely help put things in a more real perspective, for better or for worse.
Might not be hospitalized, but released/recovered: vs death is available globally and nationally:

The next story was about the rising sinophobia in the US, and how many asians (not just the chinese) are so fearful right now.
Just wondering if a sinophobian ends up in ER with Covid-19, will he refuse to get treated by an asian doctor for fear of getting worse  :s

edit: THANKS to the flagger(s) for validating my prediction

I've had someone decline to be seen by me after they found out what I looked like. No, I don't mean ugly.

    Ummmm...MAGA?

Sad that idiots like that still exist in this day and age Ash. I witnessed something similar at the local Navy Commissary awhile back. So typically (well at least at Navy Commissaries) kids and young adults work as baggers for tips. They will bag your groceries and bring them out and load them in your car. These are typically kids of active duty folks.

I was in-line to check out with an older white lady in front of me. She flat out refused to allow an African-American kid to bag her groceries. So the next kid in line took his spot and I gave the kid who was refused twice my normal tip and apologized for the disgusting behavior he had to endure. Sadly he said it wasn't the first time happening to him.

    People suck in general.
Unfortunate example, good on you for setting a proper example.  I think some people suck, but in a broad sense, I wouldn't agree that people suck in general.  There are a lot of good people out there doing good things.  Often the bad things are highlighted, and that is unfortunate.  You did the opposite, and there is need for more of that.

Hospitalized is one of the stats the Florida Department of Health site provides.
Can look at county stats as well from here. We have 48 cases - 15 Hospitalized - 0 Deaths so far in Brevard. Stats are updated 2 times a day. Without testing every citizen - WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE DON'T KNOW.

Edit: btw, I hope you meant the patient's parent. It would be really sad otherwise.
Yes, the parent called to cancel the appointment, and made it a point to tell our staff why. Have not seen this kind of behavior in kids as of now, so that gives me hope.

When I had Kaiser for my insurance and spent some time in the hospital, I was treated by the entire United Nations of health care professionals. I didn't care where they came from as long as I could understand them, communication being a very important criteria. I got over (most of) my racism and prejudice years ago. Except for politics....
