@Botch, Mardi Gras has to be the accelerant here in Louisiana. Couple of million folks crammed into the belly of the beast that is NOLa for the better part of a couple of weeks. Cleanliness ain’t next to godliness there( or anywhere in Louisiana) during carnival.

Georgia goes on lockdown beginning Friday thru April 13th.

The USA lost around 1046 people today with 2 minutes before close at GMT.

No other country lost more today than we. This is just the beggining of the very critical next 45-60 days.

Good thing Trump disbanded the pandemic office. Things seem to be going smooth without it.

Reactive and not proactive. You have no chance to win or even control with that strategy.

    Hindsight will certainly be 2020.

What an awful stain in American history.

Just read an article where it claims Italy’s death counts are way under reality. Deceased not swabbed are not included in the counts. Makes you wonder how much data everywhere (good or bad) is being manipulated in this pandemic

Chinas death toll us way way under reported. If you think we are the top of the list in death counts then you aren't paying attention. The media is not being honest, especially with regard to china and the chinese virus

Florida finally “quarantined” officially via governor, and a mayor in Georgia said he ain’t enforcing any sort of social distancing orders. People also need to remember one shopping cart, one shopper. Just cus everyone is home don’t mean everyone needs to get out of the house to go buy groceries
Perhaps you are talking about the mayor near me. Yeah it unnerves people when a town that has 18 police officers says that it is going to hire 150 citizens as special officers to enforce a six foot ordinance. People don’t want Barney Fife running around with a tape measure. He backtracked immediately and continued to
reverse his decision as the night wore on.

I’m sure that China’s numbers are under-reported, no argument there.

But South Korea’s aren’t.  They had their first positive test around the same day we did.  Seoul’s population is roughly the same size as New York City’s. Can you provide a justification as to why their numbers are so much better than ours?

Who's to say even our numbers are accurate?

Did they actually shut themselves away and not run around like any other day? Nobody knows for sure.

Yea you're probably right but Kemp will likely leave that up to the city/counties.

I think we can make a pretty good guess given the very clear differences in approaches the two countries adopted.

Caught up with my PBS News Hour from last night.  Good interview with folks in Taiwan, and how they stopped the virus in its tracks (they got burned badly by SARS).  They sent two doctors to Wu Han immediately, and had a fantastic national database/response plan already in place, that worked beautifully.  They were frustrated that they had all kinds of "Lessons Learned" to share with the world, but they are not a member of the WHO.
    China forbids it.   :|

Plus, they've just sent out 10 million masks to the parts of the world that need them, including 2 million masks to the United States.

The next story was about the rising sinophobia in the US, and how many asians (not just the chinese) are so fearful right now.

New cases, total cases, active cases, and deaths seem to be the most reported stats, but # of hospitalized cases doesn't seem to be. That number would likely help put things in a more real perspective, for better or for worse.

Just wondering if a sinophobian ends up in ER with Covid-19, will he refuse to get treated by an asian doctor for fear of getting worse  :s

edit: THANKS to the flagger(s) for validating my prediction

I've had someone decline to be seen by me after they found out what I looked like. No, I don't mean ugly.

I'm not so sure about that my friend  ;)

Edit: btw, I hope you meant the patient's parent. It would be really sad otherwise.

@caliking ...... was that after they saw the video of Adam sharing the boubon slushie with you at BB?

If I saw it, without meeting you first, I would have said "That is exactly the guy I need to help me recover."
