Doing some additions to the RV before our trip that starts on the 28th:
Added Starlink internet for mobile use:
Adding 2,000 watts of solar on the roof, 4 more BattleBorn batteries for a total of 800 amp-hours, and a DC-DC charger to charge the batteries while driving, a 6,500 watt generator, and 2 Multiplus 3,000 inverters to allow us plenty of options for boondocking and during power outages. From left to right are the two solar charge controllers, DC bus distribution boxes, and the DC-DC charger.

Just received this text from my neighbour and I’m pretty sure my head’s circumference has just grown a few inches.
Truth is, I’ve been hand picking, and I have the injuries to prove it - no joke! -

Our yard is descent at best but I took this picture of our neighbors yard a few days ago. Not one dandelion in their yard. I may or may not have accidentally drove my pull behind sprayer through their yard last spring and fall. Oops.

We have a couple folks that don't seem to give a rip about weed control that still have them here but luckily most folks seem to have moved past that stage as well. I haven't had a weed in my yard for 3 years so never had to worry about them in this house.Legume said:

I've seen flood systems in Spain with miles of concrete troughs following the contours down, with occasional pumps to raise the level before the next fall where the terrain doesn't work out. Water comes direct from the reservoir via pipes / larger channels, so no treatment needed.Ozzie_Isaac said:
Perhaps he has flood irrigation which some folks use. You are given a day and time when you get to open the gates to flood your yard. We used to have irrigation parties. At least it makes having to turn your irrigation on at 3am on a Wednesday more fun. You can supplement with regular water, but it is pricey.Acn said:
The west has a lot more water restrictions because it is a desert with rapidly declining reservoirs.ColbyLang said:
The secondary water you speak of is free? If not, why do they determine when you use it? I use my irrigation system at will because I pay for itBotch said:Mowed the lawn. They delayed turning on secondary water here a month, and my lawn is mostly dead already, mower just took down the occasional fescue.
I do not back up to any canals so flood irrigation is not an option in my current locale. I mostly see it on horse properties in suburbs of Phoenix. -
