if theres no previous attacks by this dog there will probably be just a warning. really doubt theres money to chase. if she was getting busted for drugs up here then shes walking with 25 bucks out of pocket so thats not worth the time. only thing ive ever seen is someone calling the pd and stating she is threatening to kill herself. that gets her off the street and some help.....well until someone signs her out. so whats the story with the dad

After doing a little research....they get a free "bite" (the first one).  However, the owner is liable for any injuries if the owner was negligent in any way - for example, training the dog to fight, not having it restrained by leash, chain, fence, etc.

If they can't provide any proof of rabies vaccination, that dog will be locked up for 10 days regardless.  That's some hard time in doggie jail.

If the owner was living at her fathers house then his liability insurance should be sued.

I hate the free one bite rule. I recently posted about someone who leaves their Cane Corso dog unattended and unleashed in their unfenced front dog. If it had been that dog loose bothe the small dog and your friend might be dead.

what you need to find out thru the police or animal control is if the little druggie owns the dog or if its dads dog. the states are not good at collecting low monthly payments for bills owed by a druggie

All they have to prove is that the dogs owner was living at the house.

Wow, just and absolute cluster **** of a situation.  Please let your friend know we are all rooting for her and her pup.  Hopefully they will both heal both physically and emotionally.  These situations have a way of lingering.

Scary story , I had a dog attacked a few years ago , in my backyard, animal control responded better than PD.my dog did not survive after hours of trying, they euthanized the attacking dog, the dogs owners paid all the vet bills without questioning anything, they felt horrible

wolf hound vs mini dachshund, the hound broke through the fence, we were not home

  • @lkapigian I cannot find the charcuterie thread, so I will ask you here. If I made home made pepperoni, or salami, or chorizo, for example how long is the food preserved for?  would it last longer in a refer or keep it in the curing chamber?

  • The reason I ask, I have spare time in the winter, could I make a shvt load of product and use it through out the year?

@alaskanassasin, indefinitely .....you will want to Vac Seal it so it does not keep drying out ....I have stuff well over a year in the fridge, you can, but I would not freeze

Refrigeration recommended for best quality, but you don't need to refrigerate, or at least don't need to refrigerate for long periods some cured meats.  I have had issues with mold but fixed that with a surface preservative.

@nolaegghead - I am so sorry to read about Deven and her dog.  What a terrible ordeal to have to address.  I hope she and Breaux will be able to fully recover from this.  I'm quite sure it will take lots of time. That truly sucks, big time.
I spent some time talking with Deven at the April crawfish boil and thoroughly enjoyed the conversation.  Very engaging and interesting .  She definitely has a plan and is focused on executing it.  Dang!

Depends. Mine had some calcium buildup. Ran white vinegar thru it overnight. Regular clean going on right now. Well 3 of them, to get rid of the vinegar taste

Dealing with Mackeeper. Someone named Thomas's Mac Pro hacked my  anti viral and system keeping software software and locked me out of using it. When logged back on with a new password and using a different email I then had to deal with MK trying to sell me a $40 a month service for experts to remotely optimize my 4 year old iMac. My last comment on chat was "Thrice I say cancel that and log off of my system"

Umbrella repair v2.1, using electric fence posts.  Temporary, as I think they are too weak to survive a strong wind.
@Ozzie_Isaac Can you get me contact info for the vendor that sells the fiberglass rods for kite-making?

If you want carbon fiber, then this is the best place to order from:

They also have fiberglass ... reasonable alternative for an umbrella:

Watching a train go by at approximately 0.02 mph.  It is pretty fun to watch though.  They are unloading railroad ties as it trundles down the tracks.  The smell of creosote is amazingly strong.

  • Just got my positive COVID test back. Triple Vaxed. Scratchy throat and runny nose, no big deal, but isolation awaits.

I know more people with this thing now than at any time prior, during the pandemic.  Almost all the people I know are triple vaxxed, and have had pretty mild cases.  Good luck with it.

I can’t check “like” because I don’t like people getting Covid. Maybe the Buffalo will add a button for good luck.
