I am getting close to the "is this a problem for the 3 vax'd that we don't need to know the answer?"  I believe that at some point we will devolve to that space but in the interest of thread preservation I will stop now.
    @EzraBrooks-
I hope you quickly and easily weather this and there are no knock-on issues with your or your family.
All editing was performed to finally remove the lines of blank text on the initial posting.  WTF??

Just got my positive COVID test back. Triple Vaxed. Scratchy throat and runny nose, no big deal, but isolation awaits.
I know more people with this thing now than at any time prior, during the pandemic.  Almost all the people I know are triple vaxxed, and have had pretty mild cases.  Good luck with it.
Two distant relatives (elder uncles) passed away early in the pandemic during the first wave.  Other than that it was just a few random stories of people getting infected in the neighborhood.

    In the past few weeks:
-My whole brother’s family have tested positive, he cannot taste/smell anything anymore.
-Two of my employees tested positive (one is very sick)
-Multiple friends tested positive, mostly mild symptoms except for one who’s got it pretty hard and also cannot taste/smell.
    -Multiple neighbours tested positive

I can definitely say that this wave is feeling very close to home…

On the local front, I’ve seen a lot of cases pop up as well. LOTS of current and former neighbours, friends, family, etc.

Pretty much every family I know has had positive individuals.  One had it real bad and wasn't able to sleep for over 120hrs.  All others had very mild symptoms.

8 year old daughter tested positive today. Our kids aren't vaccinated yet so fingers crossed it's mild.

Hopefully it is mild and passes very quickly for her.  My daughter went through this in early December.  The worst part for her was the 10 day quarantine, I hope you have a similar non-eventful experience.

I used to be pushed around by a tub of cashews.  It wasn't a bad place to be at the the time, but I didn't know what i was missing until my emancipation from their stifling control over my body.  It's a long story.  Pick up my book when it comes out.

The CDC in the last couple days have dropped it down to 5 days with a negative test.

We tested again at 5, that was before any CDC recommendation changes.  She still tested positive even though her symptoms only lasted a few days.

We are very aware of symptoms and test pretty regularly in our household due to jobs and interactions with people so maybe we caught it real early.

Well my sister has 101 fever, normally closer to 97. We will see when she manages to get tested tomorrow. Generally about a 5 hour waiting list.
  • Was talking to a coworker today.  It almost feels like its more "when you are going to get it, rather than if."  I have pretty much been sick since the beginning of December with a sinus infection, upper respiratory infection, as well as bronchitis.  Tested negative 3 times.  Have felt worse with this crud than when I actually had covid last in July of 2020.  Wondering if I actually caught it again and just happened to have false negatives.  Who knows.

  • Thanks to all for well wishes. What is interesting is I feel pretty good during the day, but at night I feel like total crap and have a hard time sleeping. Last night I had an awful sore throat but then when I got out of bed this morning it was mostly gone. This is the second night in a row where I felt awful at night but fine during the day.

That is how I felt when I had it over New Years. Days were ok but nights were awful. I really only had symptoms for like three days.

Have you tried taking a mild sedative at night?  When I'm sick with something that might keep me up at night, I'll typically take some NyQuil or say Tylenol PM.  Either of those tend to knock me out pretty well, but not everyone responds the same.

Yep, NyQuil last night but woke up several times feeling like my throat was on fire.

NyQuil is like 50 proof, so it's got that kick too.

Try ZzzQuil ... it's pure put me to sleep potion. Worked on us wonderfully.

I know lots of people who have not received a "booster" (I am not a fan of the term), and unfortunately the data is indicating that it really does make a difference.  People with a recent booster are faring much better than those who are 5+ months out from their last stab.
