The pork went well. I took off the skin and baked it on a tray to make crackling. Jersey Royal spuds with butter and chives, green beans with onion, garlic and chilli and a fruit crumble with custard for pudding (Anne made that).

Did some smash burgers with some smashed potatoes on the Blackstone for lunch. Grilled onions under the cheese (been cooking these a lot longer lately, get going on the hot side then move to the far right with no burner on until they are like in n out grilled oniins). Forgot to make the salad, whoops.. salad for dinner.

While at the store I saw a butt for $1.49/lb and couldn’t pass it up. Little under 8lbs on the egg now, turbo.

Eye of round sliced against the grain 1/4" thick. Spicy sweet marinade from Jerkyholic site. 2.5 hours in Traeger Ranger raised grid, set temp to lowest 165 that jumped higher several times.

BTW, info for anyone contemplating making a raised grid with nuts, bolts and washers...
1) IMO three legs easier to balance than four, also reduces foot print that interferes with food on the lower grid
2) Use head of carriage bolt as foot, no need for nuts and washers at both grids

It’s been a busy day. Lacto-fermented hot sauce has been processed. Yield was about a gallon. Then I pickled 7 pints of shishito peppers and a pint of chipotle peppers.

Bought a chuckie on sale Wednesday to make french dips and life got in the way of making it til today. Opened it up and did not pass the look/smell test. So into the trash it went. Pulled an audible for some chicken breast and made chicken Phillies.

Twins lost, Wild lost, and sister in laws dog we are watching decided to eat our carpet. The one day I took off from fixing rot the previous homeowner never bothered addressing around the glass sliding door.

Now the news is telling me we are in a golf to egg size hail storm. Shortly after I hydroplaned across a lane on the highway from the rain in my wife's vehicle. (Thankfully no one was beside me at the moment) What a day....

Have you ever worked night shifts?  I have and there is a peculiar phenomenon, usually a couple of shifts in.   It's past midnight, you're catching up on admin and trying to work out what day it is / was.  You've come to work twice but it's the third day,  so was yesterday actually yesterday or was it two days ago?  

Niche and obscure,  but that's what is going on with football.  The season has ended, but it's carrying on, and the new season has started. All at the same time.  

The Haggis chasing thistle fans are under way, but what's this : Rangers are 2nd and Celtic 4th - what tumult!   Unprecedented times my friends. 

Of note this week;  Man Utd should beat Copenhagen to reach the semi's of the Europa,  Wolves might join them but it's a closer call against Sevilla.  
In the CL quarter finals Barcelona host Bayern, which is ideal for Man cIty as they face Lyon instead. 

Elsewhere, England were rubbish and then brilliant in the cricket.  Lewis managed just second in the F1,  tennis remains thankfully hidden from view but I notice golf creeping back in to consciousness.

Gave next door neighbor lady assist with tire removal, then took to shop for new valve stem.  Apparently overnight some low-life deflated then used super glue on valve stem cap.  Was impossible for me to get cap off.

This is an elderly lady and a true sweetheart.  Some things in life I will never understand.
