Guess what? Teams with the most, best players win. Who knew? We are well in to the restarted season the brouhaha has faded in to a show parade of ‘regression to the mean’ now. Liverpool have won the title, Man City and Man Utd are the examples of best squad = best results. Wolves have shot out the traps and are on fire otherwise, meh.
Norwich v Brighton : form says tepid & low scoring. The hosts are more or less sunk, best they can hope for is a clean sheet really, 0-0
Leicester v Palace : Palace are ‘on the beach’ having secured safety, the Foxes have been misfiring. Home win 2-0.
Man Utd v Bournemouth : The game’s up for ‘wonder-kid’ Howe and the Cherries look doomed. Utd are very much on form aiming for the top 4. Home win 4-0
Wolves v Arsenal : Can’;t see past a home win. Nuno’s really got to grips with PL football and Wolves are the team of the moment, Arsenal very much are not. 2-0.
Chelsea v Watford : Just the match Frank needs after chocking at the Hammers mid-week he needs to get the lads back on the bus for a tilt at Europe. Smashing the wretched Hornets would be lovely for everyone. 3-1.
Stove v Barnsley - in the Championship and its been a disappointing re-launch for the Potters. @Eoin is doing his nut. They have slipped from needing to keep pace, to needing to out-perform those around them. Really need all 3 against Barnsley (source of Bird HD ‘D’, Boycott G, Parkinson M) today. Home win 1-0 and redemption beckons.
Sunday
Burnley v Sheff Utd : good timing for the home team, chance to leap-frog to 7th but the guests look like they are getting their early season form back. Probably 0-0, hopefully 7 goal thriller. Ok 0-0.
Newcastle v West Ham : The hated owners derby. Two soap-opera teams collide in a virtually meaningless encounter, albeit the visitors could be drawn back in to the relegation scuffle. So let’s go for 1-0 home win to keep the pain on the Hammers.
Liverpool v Aston Villa : Reds had a day-off against Man City and got humped, no one cared. Won’t happen again, back to the old routine. 3-0 and all is gloomy for Villa.
Southampton v Man City : Should be a fun match. Since Saints got whacked for 9 in mid-Winter they have not looked back and are now at 40 points and scoring goals. Man City are back to their machine like best. Spirited encounter with 5 goals optimal, in reality the Blues will snuff and poach to a 2-0 win.
Spurs v Everton : this season’s forgotten teams, despite big spending last Summer. Both have a lot to do in order to bring meaning to their endeavours. They won’t manage it. A coupon busting score draw 2-2.
In more exciting news, cricket is back! Good-bye sunny weather, the jumper wearing Goliaths are about to strut their stuff. Local cricket starts this weekend, Test matches next week and the championship on 1 August. Get those dates in your diary….

Thanks so much, Frank. It’s all been an adjustment, but overwhelmingly positive. Haven’t been on the forum much as of late because things have been so hectic. Hope that you and the family are keeping well. Thought that I saw a thread commenced about your son and a pellet grill. Where did you go wrong? 😉😉lousubcap said:@GrateEggspectations - Congrats on the move and the new job. Trust all is going well.

Sorry I missed out on the Zoom. Had promised my wife that we’d get Indian takeout and share a glass of wine after the kids were down. Although knowing some of the guys on the forum, there’s a good chance the session and associated shenanigans is still in progress. 🙂 -
Btw, congrats to @Ozzie_Isaac on the wicked reinstatement of his epic thread. Hadn’t even seen that developing given I haven’t been around. Well warranted! Now let’s not have it happen again. 🙃

Going fishing. On the way to the boat, rolled up on an accident. Dude still in the car. must have happened 2 min before we got there. No one else around. Range Rover towing 2 jet skis coming around the bend in the road from a 55 to a 25mph zone. He slammed into a parked truck which was on the shoulder with a jetski behind it, which then rammed another parked truck with a jetski. The rover lost it drivers side wheel, entire engine, and airbags deployed on all 3 sides. Rover - totaled. 3 totaled jetskis and 1 that may be salvageable. Maybe. That was the one that was thrown over the first tuck in line. All 3 trailers gone. Talked to the driver - said he called 911. Wait 5 mins. No cops. I go off to the side and call 911. Accident reported. Driver is walking around and on phone. Walk around the passenger side because I see steam and first officer pulls up. Asks if I am okay. “I am not the driver he is right......”
Gone.
He took off. In a blink.Interesting start to a day of fishing.

@SGH Great looking spread of food.@caliking I’m going to go out on a limb here. I’m going to suggest that random pouring of ingredients into whatever SS “measuring cup” is handy - as opposed to the palm of your hand - is not how the rest of the world measures...Coleman, Texas

If I’m honest, I think we’re exceptionally lucky to have gotten into the pocket that we did. I don’t believe it would have worked out this way if not for COVID - that’s not to say that the pandemic is a good thing by any stretch; only that I think it played in our favour. -
