@botch not sure if this is the case with your pressure washer but if you “prime” your garden hose before hooking it to the pressure washer you can save yourself time by not pushing all the air through your machine.

My second, and last, attempt at washing my car "the detailers way".

Sprayed Mr. Audi down with my new pressure washer, which was "surging" uncontrollably, for no reason that I could see.  Then scrubbed her down with a microfiber mitt and soap.  Sprayed down again, with the pressure washer, still surging.  Grabbed the nozzle of my heated "Air Cannon" to spray the water off, it just sprayed it "around".  The hood of the car (which got a second coat of Griot's "ceramic" wax, last week) didn't even bead up, just "sheeted" the water off.  Sorta.  And the soap streaks were everywhere.  And it all took about two hours.

Tomorrow morning I'll wash Her again.  With a bucket of cold water, no soap, and a sponge covered with nylon netting.  Dry Her off with a chamois.  Apply some Turtle Wax paste wax, like Dad showed me how.

Are you feeding the washer direct from the tap?  Maybe check the flow rate - rated output of the washer against tap flow (time it into a bucket).  If your flow is a bit low, the washer is trying to pull the water out of the tap and the pump will cavitate / surge.  Sucking out of a bucket that acts as a buffer can help with this.

Sitting here in utter shock that my favorite family heirloom cast iron skillet fell off the counter onto my wood floors and broke apart. I’ve never heard of a Cast iron skillet breaking in that manner.

Those poor new floors :P Hope it didn't dent them up too bad.

@Botch - If you want to strip off all that painfully installed wax from your last go-round, use Dawn dish soap to get rid of whatever is left.  Then get yourself a clay bar and use it to really clean the finish.  One more wash and dry with the Dawn, then apply the wax.  I always go with two coats of wax on the horizontal surfaces.  FWIW-

Cast iron is very brittle.  We removed several thousand pounds of it from this research institute where the drain pipes were either cast iron or borosilicate glass and we would just pop it with a hammer and it would break up.

i broke a 2 inch gas line while cutting out a water feed line with a torch. some moron used cast iron fittings on a gas line :o ever see a 2 inch pressurized fire coming outa a gas line under a church =) oh, probably the same moron removed the handle on the gas main valve. same church adding water heat i drilled thru 4 feet of bibles drilling thru a wall

I had a landline only because I had DSL for internet and cable for TV years ago. Cable internet was crap then in my area. Then I switched to Dish for TV, and their internet was crap, too. Finally Comcast came to the area, and I went from 6 Mbps to 250 Mbps, and they added a zillion TV channels for an extra $10. Cancelled the landline and tossed all my phones. I had been on a cell phone for a long time by then.

I would recommend a polish vs. a cutting car wax.

The clear coat on your vehicle is about 2 mils (2/1000th of an inch, about the thickness of the plastic used to wrap a pack of cigarettes) in thickness, and some waxes are typically made with some very fine grit as well. Waxing surfaces, with an aggressive cutting wax may indeed introduce more harm, by lowering the amount of UV protection by the abrasion of the mechanical application process, provided by the OE clear coat on your vehicle, as it will degrade the surface over time.

Be very selective of the type of wax you choose to use.

We designed all coatings for all Audi's finishes, in our Wuppertal facility. We have a partnership that goes back with them for years.

@Botch In the same camp as @lousubcap here.
My daily driver sits outside year round, Nebr. winters with snow/ice/salt and hot summers, plus birds.  Clay bar followed by hand wax (I like to use Carnauba) twice a year and finish still in good shape after 12 years.
As an aside, best product I've used for removing bugs, tar, road grime and the like shown below.  Local Honda dealer here stocks it:

+100, I try to keep a fine layer of dust and some mud on all my vehicles for extra UV protection.  About every 3-4 months I go through a 4 dollar touchless wash.  No wax, just cheapest option with underbody spray.

The court house here is across the street from the county jail (which has its own distinct smell of a$$ and cafeteria spaghetti), a couple blocks away from Freemont Street and easy walking distance the homeless shelters. The homeless population take up residence on the court house grounds at night and use the shrubbery as portable toilets.

We are too attached to the convenience of landline but our landline has been modernised ... Bought an OBI200 VOIP adapter few years ago and ported our home phone# into it, plus a Google line that allows free unlimited US and Canada phone calls.

After the initial equipment and setup fees (broke even in about 6 months), it's free 'forever', should have done it sooner when a neighbour told me about it. It's like running our own telco, with myriad of features that telcos charge extra for, e.g. call display, call waiting, 3-way calling, number blocking, auto dialback, voicemail, call recording, etc.
Here in the states I bought a similar "Ooma" system; less than $100 for the equipment and I only pay a US $5.99 tax every 3 months.  It's what I use most of the time.
I do have a "smartphone", but only carry it when traveling or backpacking (in fact I'm not sure where it is right now).  It communicates with my car and I did use it to find a residential address once, cool.  It's a Tracfone and I pay $99/yr for it, the minutes/data roll over (that's /yr, not /month!)
For voip home phone, I'm with freephoneline.ca. They have two options: (1) no tech support but totally free after paying one-time initiation fees (2) for folks who don't want to mess around with the adapter, they provide hand holding tech support, $4.95+tax /month. I have option #1. With my own adapter I can also add multiple carriers, whereas with #2 they preconfigure the adapter and restrict it to their service only. I think 'Ooma' is similar to #2 but cheaper, not as cheap as mine though  ;)

For smartphone we have pay per use setup, $75 a year ($25 for 120 days), each time I use voice/text/data the charge is deducted from account balance. Unused balance accumulates as long as I renew every 120 days.

These arrangements work well for us homebodies even before the pandemic.

Coincidentally, we also set up pay as you drive car insurance arrangement late last year. It makes sense for us even without the pandemic so really reaping the extra savings now.

Funny how we take pride in saving money  :)
