One of my gifts this year was a dehydrator.  Used it last night to make my first batch of beef jerky:

This stuff is like meat crack.  Down the jerky rabbit hole I go...
Lots of dehydrator projects out there ............enjoy and that looks killer

What’s the going rate for a new set of bands for my medium?
Not sure about a medium, but I replaced my large last summer for $120. So I would assume $80-$100.
Cool. I might swing by the mothership tomorrow if I remember. I’m tired of constantly messing with that stud bolt that the spring attaches to. Got a little Christmas cash burning a hole in my pocket.
I get that, that is the exact reason I switched mine out. Haven't had any issues since.
$119.95 for the medium at the mothership.  :|
    That's unfortunate.

I am looking to put new bands on my L. I am going to try to warranty my base because the ceramic glaze came off where it stuck to the rubber pads in the nest.  I am also wanting the new nest handler.  I want to do this all at once.  I may try for some ACE rewards deals to pull this all together.
My XL is the same in one spot where the glaze stuck to the nest. Interested to see if that's a warranty item.

Just got my new bands for Christmas.  Now to install.

It has been covered in the past. The question is if I will need to run it up the flagpole or not.

Seeing @YukonRon's pics of Italy, has anyone else been following the stories of houses in Italy and Sicily being sold for one Euro?
    https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/italy-one-euro-home-buyers/index.html
I'm half-tempted to look into this.  I could do most renovation myself, and after getting my FERS/retirement estimate last week from the OPM, it looks like I'd be able to afford to fly back and forth to Sicily a couple times a year, plus do a renovation.
The folks interviewed in the link above were surprised that the infamous Italian red tape was mostly non-existent, but I've heard too many stories from co-workers who've been stationed there.  Heh, really, would US bureaucracy be any better/worse?
I took a year of Latin in high school (one of the Top Three Mistakes of my Lifetime) so I'd have a bit of a leg up on learning Italian.  Maybe.  The food, seafood, wine and music culture would just be fantastic.  And if I bought a place near Aviano, I'd have automatic commissary/BX/gym/banking/legal help right there (plus ugly 'Muricans to connect with, when necessary  ;) ).

    It's tempting...

    @Botch

That is the deal, and it is tempting for sure.

Some of these homes on the market for 1 euro, are not much better than some of the ruins I have posted. Some are in fairly decent shape that could take about €70,000.00 and sweat equity to have a really nice place.

Certainly worth looking into. Things I do not like is ancient plumbing, and ancient electrical, poor foundations.....the ones I have seen have these issues, and more. Add lead and asbestos....you have some work to do.

It comes down to what it is worth to you.

We will be back next year to look at some of these locations, ourselves, up north in the Alpine region.

I like the way you think.

Cheating here-stick burner beef back ribs,  Have a small chain market that lopes them off for the boneless Xmas rib roast customers (mostly 3 and 4 bone cuts) and knocks them down $2/lb.  Best deal around for them.  Stock up and then enjoy. Here is a typical low quality pic of today's entertainment:

I am set for a bit.  Thanks for lookin...

@YukonRon - loving the pics of your trip. We visited Italy many years ago, and this brings back some fine memories.

Turned out that we could get by with speaking as much Bengali and Hindi  in Rome,  as we did English or Italian. I'd get a free beer for every 2 I bought,  just about anywhere  in the city  :)

I had to quote that twice because it is just that bad. It had to come from Caliqueen’s side of the family.
