@YukonRon: Funny/sad story about my time in Italy. My wife and I got a fantastic picture of ourselves much like that you shared of the Spanish stairs. We are both beaming and are in the foreground with a breathtaking vista behind us. Upon our return home, my brother in law looks at the photos and discerns prevalent and previously-undiscovered graffiti in the shot reading “I have a fishing rod between my legs.” At least it was complimentary.

Stayed not far from there during my time in Rome. One of my favourite memories of the trip was walking along the Tiber not far from there at about 1:00am. Vibrant night scene along the river. Merchants were selling - my wife bought a few dresses, people were eating and children were playing.

Reflecting. Lost a life long friend to brain cancer, literally grew up with him and his wife and they started dating in high school, then years later we lived across the street when kids were small. He leaves her and 3 kids same age as mine (18-15-12). Memorial service was yesterday and it reminded my wife (who quickly became close with his wife when we moved back) and I that grief is physical. We drowned our sorrows last night, now having a cigar on the patio trying to figure it out.

@TTC: Never fun to lose a good friend, and never fun to see a parent with young children pass. My condolences. Know that your presence in his life and those of others he cared about was what made it worth living.

Way too early to check out; Condolences, @TTC.
