@bccomstock - nothing is chiseled in stone yet for Sunday, but a lot of people will still be in town.  I was thinking about bloody marys and make some giant omelets.  My buddy has the biggest frying pan you've ever seen and he makes omelets with 2 dozen eggs.  Either way, drop on by.  I'm on the other side of the river from the French Quarter.   I'll PM you my cell.

Sounds good.. I'll have to see who is going with me to the game and what time I can get over there.. It's always difficult leaving early enough to do anything if friends are going.

  • I'll just leave this here.  Cen-Tex can rock the Zydeco rubboard.  He played on Bourbon Street back in the day.

Looking forward to meeting you guys and girls.

that was funny (to us). I don't think the dude in the band was all that thrilled that I jacked his board but I did rock it.

Just got off the phone with my buddy Randy.  He's gonna start on a 7.5 gallon cast iron cauldron of smoked and andouille sausage turkey gumbo at 10AM.  He'll pre-smoke 2 15 pound birds in his (*gasp*) Primo and make the broth before hand, but should have the gumbo together and ready by 1PM.   His gumbo is unreal, I posted a thread about it in April.

@lakewade - This guy is kinda a celebrity on the BBQ circuit for his BBQ, catering and cutting boards.  He's a top notch cook and he's a great guy, was just drinking beer and watching Anchorman 2 (disappointing unless you're fairly drunk) in my shop tonight with his son.   He's genetically connected to Auburn through most of his and his wife's family (aka "huge fan"), so be sure to use that information for entertainment purposes.  Seriously, hell of a cook and fun to hang with.

Okay guys here it is, the worlds best boudin!
For those of you that never had real boudin, well this is it.
@nolaegghead Lemee know if you want me to prepare these at home on my bge's then bring to the party or if there will be an egg available at the party. It's best if they are done indirect low temp.

You're gonna love it at teh Roosevelt. It's as New Orelans as you can get. Probably has the finest bar in New Orleans. Their cocktails are wonderful. You must order a Sazarac and I highly recommend trying a Ramos Gin Fizz while you're there.
Take notice of all the beautiful polished hand rails and hardware, that was done by my company. ;)

I have not prior posted to this thread as I am envious of all who will entertain/be entertained with this event.  But I did recall  a post where @Cen_Tex was talking about ordering in a SRF brisket for the event.  Hopefully he has had a rare revelation with reality but just in case, here's a link to the SRF Gold brisket sale for the ensuing week:
http://www.snakeriverfarms.com  The real challenge will be "who's on first on Monday...".  Enjoy what will likely be an epic event.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I'm seasoned as hell and I would be nervous cooking a brisket that expensive.  Maybe I can trade another photo for it!

I was going to do the gold when I saw the sale but then realized that I can send 2 "regular" SRF Waygu Briskets for almost the same price. Those are the best I've ever had so that's good enough for this crew.
