Hope everything went well last night. Looking at the news, there was very crazy weather including hurricane force winds.WeberWho said:I'm hoping for the best tonight. We had 12 to 18" of snow in the Twin Cities Friday night. We had highs in the 50/60's today and now everything is wet. It's going to get down to 25 degrees tonight. Tomorrow morning is going to be scary.
All good here thanks. That storm was moving! It moved through quick. The wind stuck around until this morning. Neighbor lost a smaller tree and another neighbor lost sections of his viny fence. Not just tipped over but flew away somewhere else. Not is visual sight. All relatively minor at the end of the day.
The roads were way, way better than I had planned for this morning. That's a plus."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Great news. I saw that the storm (not just the winds) was moving at 80mph. That is insane for any month of the year but December in MN is apocalyptic stuff. Glad you guys fared well.

@WeberWho and @dbCooper - Glad your impact was relatively minor. Definitely some different weather patterns of late.

Absolutely. I'm just happy there seems to be a plan. I feel like it's been a while since Arsenal have had one of those...there was half a decade of waiting on Wenger to retire and then the Emery period (maybe Unai had a plan, but couldn't get support from higher).Foghorn said:
That's my read on things as well - at least as far as this season goes. I'm not sure how much potential those young players have or how well Arteta will be able to get the best out of them. That's what makes it fun to watch I guess.Acn said:
I mean, I understood that the Gunners were fighting for a Europa spot this season, but at least this year it was with a bunch of kids you could dream on growing up and being something.Foghorn said:
At least you are a realist.Acn said:Enjoying the fleeting time of Arsenal in the top 4.There is a clear top 3, and Man U should have too much raw skill not to take the last CL spot. I’ll be happy finishing 5 or 6, celebrating a St Totteringham’s Day and seeing Odegaard, Saka, Smith-Rowe, and the defense growing into a squad that can challenge for the league in a few years.
I do think the jury is still out on Arteta, and promise when you're late teens/early 20s is no guarantee of future development, but I'm thankful there is a core of talent that has the opportunity to grow together. I think that's all you can hope for as a fan, unless your club is owned by a Russian billionaire or the ruling family of an oil-rich middle eastern nation.

For the record @thetrim is doing well and has definitely way more than covered the standing Navy beat Army wager. From the outset there’s only one winner this weekend in the PL, that’s the Big O* - which looms over all facets of life on the tiny island of Ewe-kay.
As it stands, this is your box of chocolates to pick from;
Man Utd v Brighton - postponed
Aston Villa v Burnley - a stiff test for both teams. The hosts are in better shape with Stevie G at the helm but the visitors are regressing to their mean - which is obdurate and just above the relegation battle. Some say this season is when their luck runs out. 1-0
Southampton v Brentford - postponed
Watford v Palace - postponed
West Ham v Norwich - postponed
Leeds v Arsenal - the hosts were proper spanked by City mid-week and the Gunners put a real shift in to beat the Hammers. I doubt this will be a cake walk for Arsenal on any level but I’ve got to go with form. 1-2
Coventry v Stoke - postponed
Everton v Leicester - postponed
Wolves v Chelsea - contrasting midweek results brings increased interest here. Wolves shut out the filthy Seagulls and took home 3 points, the Blues were held by the shambolic Toffees. Business are usual or the start of the end for Chelsea’s great season so far? Meh, the former I reckon 1-2
Newcastle v Man City - simple 0-25 I hope. Has to be an away win and the score is irrelevant. Sadly it seems that Toon will be able to sign a bunch of sponsorship deals to exponentially boost their spending power in January, which is disappointing. The only hope is their formation of a Harlem Globetrotters / Wild Geese squad still isn’t enough to keep them up.
Spurs v Liverpool - the Reds are flying but the naughty pixie in me sees an upset here. 2-1.
There you go, slim pickings but I see Sunday also offers up USA v Bosnia-Herzegovenia. I don’t know why that’s happening, but knock yourself having a prediction on that.

But you know, it's by your side I will stay -
Very nice as always. I'm only going to quibble with your predicted upset because I hope that increases the likelihood of it happening. I'll predict that we'll see a Spurs team that recognizes that it is outclassed at essentially every position and the Liverpool walk to a 3-0 victory.CPFC1905 said:From the outset there’s only one winner this weekend in the PL, that’s the Big O* - which looms over all facets of life on the tiny island of Ewe-kay.

As for the US vs Bosnia-Herzegovina that is being played (from our perspective) just to let our off-season MLS players have a run, I'll go with 2-0 US for 3 reasons:
1) It's on home soil.
2) Our players who aren't good enough to play in Europe are probably better than their players who aren't good enough to play in Europe.
3) Our players think they're actually playing for a spot on a potential World Cup team whereas B-H has been eliminated.
With that said, one should never underestimate the quality of football played in the rest of the world compared to the US just because it is played everywhere else with a passion that we still can't match - so I have to admit that it won't surprise me if we lose.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

Put the finishing touches on some Christmas presents this am. The thing in the front is a 'bath shelf' so one, or two, people can have something for snacks & drinks while in their soaking tub...

How do they de-fur the pig? On my ex-BIL farm, all we did was dispatch the pig, bleed it, then give it to the person buying it. Otherwise, they were sold live. Christmas pigs are the best.lkapigian said:Picked up tomorrow’s cook

As of late I stick with skinning. Much less work in my opinion.
