Truth be told, politics doesn’t come up much at all at these events. So except for all the perfume Nola wears, we’re indistinguishable from conservatives.

The Bourbon Slushies is the elixir My Beautiful Wife prepares, with just a slight assist from me, from a recipe she obtained in church. I can take no credit for that, other than "pack mule."

The major leaguers will be there and very willing to give you tips and insights regarding all things BGE. I personally believe this group is as good as any of the chefs anywhere at any BGE event. They all Rock it out.

I can't begin to tell you the feeling of awe I get when I am around these folks.
Just be careful on the autograph, I did that my first year, too. I had too many bourbon slushies, and had @bgebrentautograph my forehead. He could not find his sharpie, and had to interrupt Nicole from cooking, cleaning, prepping as well as doing all the work around the BGE and Blackstone to find it for him. Then he ended up writing his boat registration number on head. So be careful.

Definitely go for the chocolate pots. @JohnInCarolina became a celebrity and had actually been contacted by Mike Rowe from the show "Dirtiest Jobs" in an effort to do a feature about cleaning JIC's Mini Max, (at least I thought it was a MM, it was hard to tell)
Mike Rowe was thinking Emmy for sure on that one.

The chocolate pots were killer, and several have already suggested if he did not want any personal physical harm done to him, he needs to not only double the size of those bad boys, as well as fill twice as many large Ball Jars than he did the last time. Only one 4 oz jar per person, was just enough to make me mad, I wanted more.

Be sure to try everything, it is all so delicious, and unbelievable.

I will also say @CTMike was right, @nolaegghead is OZ. If you need help on anything, OZ is the guy and can make it happen.

All the cooks and helpers are red carpet worthy. You will learn much. Make sure your smart phone has space for images and movies, and notes.

It was aptly named, it is a blast in the truest of forms, and I can't thank enough those that put this event together.

Looking forward to meeting you, at one of the best celebrations of food, family and friends, you will ever attend.

This is an excellent idea. Trust me. At minimum being around for the festivities on Friday night is a must if you can swing it.

Surprisingly politics doesn’t come up at Butt Blast. When there’s hundreds of pounds of food being egged under the trees in rural North Carolina, nobody seems to care about what’s going on in Washington.

Also, there are a lot of great golf courses in NC, bring your sticks.

I do appreciate JIC keeping a running tab on the participants attending the blast. I am thinking about getting another cooler to hold the slushies, and a larger freezer (again) to make these up. BGE strikes the wallet again, this time with vengeance.

Yes, I understand "Family Friendly"... with a name like "Butt Blasters" one would expect a little latitude with the humor. My post were primarily for the Brothers of the Phin since most will have a similar sense of humor. Rest easy...I'm not going to roll up with a vice and a grease gun so all is safe.

Would love to, but expense for 3 to travel & little one in school makes it difficult. It’s on my list so hope to have a beer or a bourbon or both with you soon.

I have 5 or 6 bottles of brown water I will bring, along with Ol' Mortimer.

On on another note, if one of you farkers lives near Woodford and wants to pick me up a bottle of Double Double Oaked I would be eternally grateful and reimburse the cost.
