NC Butt Blast 2018

Eggheads,

@JohnInCarolina , @piney , and I would like to invite you to North Carolina Butt Blast 2018 that will be held at Dan Nicholas Park, in Salisbury, NC on Saturday, April 21nd from 10am-3pm/until.

Please take a look at their site (hyperlink above and will post near the end too).  They have a campground that will house campers and RVs as well as six cabins to rent.  From what I understand, the cabins are going fast, so give them a call to reserve if you want one of those.

This location includes a shelter that will house 150 people with nearby restrooms. We have reserved "Shelter No.2".  See map attached for location.

A few key notes for this site:

  • The shelter does not have running water
  • The shelter does not have power.
  • Officially no alcohol, however, my feeling is if it's controlled and out of sight, all will be okay. Bring your Yeti Rambler! (We had no issues in previous years)
  • Gates open from 8am- 7:30pm
  • Cannot use a generator (noise ordinance of the park(I'm actually thinking a Honda inverter type gen will be okay))

Link to Google Maps click HERE or below:

I have attached three files.
  1. Dan_Nicholas_Park_Map - Shows the map of the entire facilities and I have noted where "Shelter No. 2" is.  Should be very easy to find when coming in through the main entrance.
  2. CampgroundInfo2 - Campground information for those that may want to bring their campers or RV.
  3. Campground_Cabin - This is information regarding the cabins.

This site is located in a great location (near Salisbury, Concord, Lexington, Charlotte) where you can stay in a hotel if need be.  Below is a link that will take you to hotels that are nearby in Salisbury.

We'll be there and would encourage all who have considered coming to do so.  It's truly a great family friendly event where you can meet some fellow eggers and get some great grub.

It really is family friendly. This is the same announcement as last year and the year before (I think).

Place has a two huge play grounds, petting zoo, regular zoo, merry-go-round, a small train that you can ride on, paddle boats, and much more.  I might add that those items for the park are very reasonable too.

Butt Blast is a free event though.

Sounds like you need a Dr. for that.

My Beautiful Wife and I will certainly be there.
I hope that will not negatively impact the attendance......too much...

    Anyway...

If it is not too much of a bother, we would like to host the back stage event, Saturday evening for those who choose to remain, just as we did last year. It was fun and we enjoyed it immensely. Hope y'all did too!

We will do beef tenderloin sliders, and Boubon Slushies, as well as family friendly libations.
( @Jeremiah that might also include them Moss Squeezings you are so fond of )

We are so looking forward to this event, and seeing all our family of friends.

Great times for sure, and really great cooks, best I have ever been around, and I learn so much while there.

Hope you all can make it.

Oh yeah, all you BGE newbies.....your BGE warranty is no longer valid unless you attend....just kidding.......or am I?
Seriously though, it is worth the trip, and you will come back.
We reserved the same spot next to you.

This is easily the most relaxed egg event there is.  Great cooks donating the food and work to interested attendees.  No corporate involvement although some corporate donations as its evolved.  SRF has been friendly along with local shops.  Great venue and time of year.  Look forward to meeting you.
