Picked it up at estate sale today, for sure neglected.  This is after 1st coat of mineral oil, will get another tomorrow.  When it's happy with oil will finish up with some wax.

Some people will put the board in a large plastic bag (think trash bag), and then absolutely drown it in oil and leave it for a few days to a week.
Is that hydration or lubrication, Ozzie? Asking for a friend.
I shall be marketing my new “Lubrydration” line of oils and sports drinks.

Roundabouts are the deal that requires focus (aka hang up the phone 100 yards prior to entry).  Love 'em but not used enough, although could make a return given the ability to control traffic  flow.
And I also have a lawn.  Happy Friday!

Getting ready for a Catholic wedding in @kl8ton favorite place, Carmel Indiana. I suppose it will last well into the wee hours of Sunday. The doggo is heading to daycare for a slumber party.

  • They installed three consecutive, two-lane roundabouts in my old neighbourhood when we lived there. In each one, there was also a crosswalk for pedestrians, for which they had priority. I am completely fine with the concept, but introducing multiple multi-lane roundabouts mixed with crosswalks absent education/sensitization is downright irresponsible.

Now that is a great traffic controlling roundabout.  If one of those were dropped in on this side of the pond the hue and cry would be devastating.  Great clip.

Most roads have signs, stripes and a somewhat logical design. If you are expected to figure it out in a strange place then you can do even better locally. Just follow the signage and stripes.
that said roundabouts are best used in areas of 45 mph or less in my opinion. Interstates still need separated interchanges. Though 20 miles down the road they have a roundabout on the minor road on either side of the interstate.
Now if you really want to blow the mind of stick in the mud drivers run them through a diverging diamond signalized intersection. There you switch to the left side of the bridge at the first light and back to the right side at the second light. That allows left hand turns onto the interstate without crossing traffic. No problem at all if you follow the signs and stripes. Using that design meant that we didn’t have to buy out two car dealerships, one of which was a Mercedes stealership.

We're seeing them more and more, new areas being developed have them, intersections that are more then two roads crossing, etc.  First time I encountered them were the rotary's on cape cod in the '80s. Clearly a better way than stoplights in my view.
    Love you bro!

A true rotary in mass is big enough to drive at 50 mph and the definition here for a yeild sign is to merge. Speeding up to merge is encouraged.  The new roundabouts change traffic from 50 mph down to 15.  Now we have rollovers....

They are popping up around here. I like them when they are made big enough for a 18 wheeler to navigate. We have several new ones where it is a struggle for the big guys and traffic slows to a crawl.

I only encountered the un-true ones on small
country roads, no way I was navigating those at 50 in the dark with a head full of beer.

They do roundabouts here, but they have huge sidewalks in the center, so you can essentially just avoid the roundy part and drive straight if you don’t mind a bit of curb/sidewalk.  The curbs are even like F1 kerbs so you can drive right up them without any issue.

I've had this idea in my head forever but I've always pushed it off when Christmas came around. I couldn't pass it off any longer when my neighbors parked their RV in their backyard after purchasing a new 5th wheeler. It was my perfect opportunity. I told my wife my crazy idea in the past and she purchased me a mannequin for my birthday last month. So it was a quick text to the neighbors asking if I could use their RV as a prop. They were 100% in! So we made a quick sign and found some accessories for the mannequin. I think it turned out pretty well. We put it out yesterday and seen multiple people come up to it and take pictures with it. If it makes a few people smile and laugh I've done my job!

They should make that pic the Christmas banner to the forum, lol.

The greatest risk is from the urgency all drivers import by trying to leave, or avoid being sucked in to - Hemel Hempstead.
A futile and largely pointless town that has been turned in to a soulless abomination of disjointed urban developments that take term "awkward juxtapositions that merely magnify each others' short comings" to its absolute limit.

Some people are still gyrating about it, several years after entering.    They have not been reported missing by their families.  Darwinism in action.

I always put the date and weight on things going into the freezer.  Mrs. Cooper thought it funny to put that on the pig board package.
