@Ozzie_Isaac ouch that must’ve hurt! At least it’s something she can recover from."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Hurtling towards the cold dark nights and in to the real engine room of the season. A double game week behind us (see press for details, I frankly can’t be bothered to go through it) which has progressed the sift of quality from fortune, but oddly made predictions harder as some teams are still not where they should be.
Saturday
Everton v Liverpool - the Scouse derby that follows an uncharacteristic 4-0 win by the Toffees mid-week, but even with a slight hiccup to only draw with Newcastle - also mid-week, the Reds are just operating at the next level presently. 0-2
Villa v Southampton, first win in six for the Villans mid-week to stem their worst run for this and last season. Luckily they host hapless Saints who just can’t get any luck or find the necessary skill to threaten oppositions presently. 2-0.
Brentford v Newcastle, 11th welcome 12th and that tells you all you need to know. Toon are interlopers that far down the table but hey have worked hard at being average this season. Is it because the PL rules have tightened and buying success is much harder? Yep - that’ll be it. 1-1, although a home win would be the narrow majority if played 100 times.
Palace v Man City, well usually Palace are on hand to help teams rediscover form, but Forest obliged for Citeh during the week and so the innovative approach of Pep’s men to win the league without winning matches seems to have been abandoned. Even a draw for the mighty Eagles feels out of reach despite our rally across recent weeks. 1-2 with a late consolation on our side to add glitter to the turd shaped result.
Man Utd v Forest, the air is certainly escaping Forest’s balloon but even a descent to mid-table is better than all of last season. Early days for Utd and their current saviour, but a routinely convincing defat by the Gunners mid-week is a clear bell weather. 6 places apart, but only 3 points Utd could theoretically go above Forest with a win but this is not the time to look beyond the end of each half of the game for both teams. Tricky to call 2-2.
Sunday
Fulham v Arsenal, strong win last night against the filthy Seagulls will add a spring to the Cottagers step, but the Ars’ have got their own mojo back, big time. 0-1
Ipswich v Bournemouth, the truth of PL life is manifesting for the Tractor boys as their purple patch of five points from 3 games seems a lifetime ago. The Cherries are hot off beating Spurs last night and will be in no mood to show compassion. 0-1
Leicester v Brighton, with RVN in the Foxes big chair fun awaits and a demolition of the Hammers mid-week shows you all you need to know. Yes, the bubble may burst but it could well be so far in to the season that they are already safe. A previously unforeseen tricky trip up the M1 for the filthies. 1-1
Spurs v Chelsea, the Spursy Spurs rotating outcome policy is still in full effect, so they are due a win here. That’s not totally impossible, but Ches are firmly in the groove and it would be big shift in form to see them capitulate. One thing is for sure, there will be goals - either 5 or 6 of them. Let’s go 2-3.
Monday
West Ham v Wolves, difficult times for both teams but at least one of them will end their shared recent form of two defeats. A draw helps neither, other than stops the rot and that may not be enough to keep Lopetegui as boss man at the Hammers. Not a game likely to distract you from staring at a wall for two hours. A pyrrhic 0-0.
In other news, I have recently triumphed in a contest to return to the role of head of my household. Today I shall be mostly picking friends, and favoured pets, to fill the roles of wife, child A, child B, and current dog. Carry on.

Perhaps I missed an earlier post, but I take it by “new” that you got this second hand. Sweet board. Maybe it’s just the photo, but it looks like it could use some hydration.dbCooper said:Getting some ribs out of freezer for a weekend cook. Anxious to use my "new" cutting board.

Some people will put the board in a large plastic bag (think trash bag), and then absolutely drown it in oil and leave it for a few days to a week.dbCooper said:Picked it up at estate sale today, for sure neglected. Yes , I used to work for the state DOT. Due to budget they are being installed all around our Coast. That includes a couple of hundred yards from my house. You wouldn’t believe the amount of witching about it that I hear. I tell people “Well do you want a higher gas tax?”. There are a couple of other advantages of roundabouts. First since they have no traffic lights they still work when hurricanes knock out the power. Second there are fewer and safer collisions, those that occur are usually sideswipes instead of deadly T Bones or high speed rear end collisions.Canugghead said:Rounabout, like roof, is a great Brit gift to us, cuts down on stop-n-go pollution and zero traffic lights maintenance. It's Friday night right?Unfortunately they are detouring traffic right past my front door during construction. A bit irritating but I am not going to pester the local office. -
We have friends over for the NE volleyball game that took place earlier, drinking was (is) involved. Right now thinking after liberally applying the 2nd coat place it into a food saver bag and seal it up for a few days. Any reasons to not do that?Ozzie_Isaac said:

Watching a recent Green Bay game on the "NFL Football" channel.
I liked the ability to show the "line of scrimmage/first down" lines under the players, but now the NFL Network is showing animated circles underneath the players, and it's confusing as hell and I can't keep track of where the damn ball is.
I guess it won't soon matter; last season some of the playoff games were only on pay-per-view, and I'm sure they all will be in the next year or two, and I won't be watching football anymore. ****ing oligarchs."Hallelujah, Noel, be it Heaven or Hell,

Roundabouts are the deal that requires focus (aka hang up the phone 100 yards prior to entry). Love 'em but not used enough, although could make a return given the ability to control traffic flow.
And I also have a lawn. Happy Friday!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Is that hydration or lubrication, Ozzie? Asking for a friend.Ozzie_Isaac said:
