Giving this rub a go based on @Foghorn's recommendation:
https://2gringoschupacabra.com/all-products/handcrafted-steak-seasoning/  I don't need another option as I am trying to simplify my life but I can always pass it on to my son.  However, I have faith with this going in.  The challenge will be to apply at the close or figure out how to not burn it going caveman.  First world issues, I know.  B)
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Those two gringos take their seasoning not clumping seriously...

     Calcium Stearate (Free Flow Agent)

Silicon dioxide (basically "sand") is non-toxic.  Actually there's some evidence that it, in water, helps delay adult onset dementia.

I don't know much about the calcium stearate, but stearic acid is one of the most common fatty acids found in nature.  I would suspect this is harmless in these low doses.  I generally look to the EU food additive list for relative safety.

What is unhealthy is all the combustion products from your cooking fire.  Those are largely carcinogenic, etc.  But if we cared about that we probably wouldn't be here.

I wasn't trying to make any health impact statement there.
Just hadn't seen a spice mix with three additives to fight clumping. Seen one or two before but not three, until now.

    Property taxes
I’m about to do the same. Sucks doesn’t it?

I know it does in Dallas. A coworker just moved there and assuming he's not exaggerating, he claims his property tax is as much as his mortgage each month. Our homes cost relatively the same yet my property tax was 6% of his.

Is that due to county taxes being different from his to yours? Been thinking about relocating to TX and wouldnt mind knowing which areas to cross off the search
Taxes as a whole are probably a little lower here than other states but if you want services, you have to get the money from somewhere.

We have no state income tax but we do have statewide 8.25% sales tax and what some would consider to be higher real estate taxes. There is no state property tax; they are all imposed by your city/county to pay for schools and services.

In the cities, RE taxes probably average 1.5-2.75% (guessing at that number based on where I have lived) of value but there are huge exceptions for your domicile. I’m at the higher end of that in my area but you do get a huge deduction if it’s your only home and you live in it full time. I pay around $6800 in property tax for my home. It would be $11,000 if I did not get the domicile deduction.

    Well, apparently I can't read.
When I was reading the ingredient list I noticed that they had "free flow agent" listed three times. Didn't even bother to look closely while copy/pasting and notice that two were the same thing.

Not done yet but haggling on a new 4runner
Any luck on the 4Runner?? We’ve been looking off and on since January but wanted to wait to see how things played out with covid. SWMBO has been wanting one for a long time, we ended up purchasing a 4Runner Saturday. After some emails on Friday we drove up Saturday morning and where in and out in about 1 1/2hours (45 minutes getting the full vehicle tutorial), easiest vehicle purchase I’ve ever made.

Yup, we don’t state income tax (yet) but it feels like we do with the insane property taxes

hate to tell you, all those californians moving into texas is going to double those taxes. i fled from nh when mass moved in, the taxes went way up, same house cross the line in nh a mile away is 7 to 8k in taxes, mines 2k
Sales tax tho. You pay more in sales tax. All evens out.

Except sure, *you* buy everything in Salem NH to avoid the sales tax, but on the average, if you want decent schools etc it costs money.

Low/no sales tax or income tax means high real estate tax.

High real estate tax means low sale tax or income tax.

High income and sales and real estate tax means you live in one of the most prosperous cities in the country. NYC, California cities, etc

The only people who mention a city or town or states high property taxes are the ones who don’t live there anyway.

The ones who live there (own property) can usually afford to live there.

thats the kicker though, i was paying high income tax in mass while paying high realestate tax in nh. thats getting the DP. a couple appraisals back in mass i convinced the appraiser to make my house a full time camp instead of residential, i think im the only house in town designated that way and its really inexpensive tax wise

That's a sharp looking suv! We looked at a navy blue one as well. We ended up with a silver sr5 premium. I'm just happy it came with the all weather floor mats all the way around. I was shopping for the husky mats initially.

question on the mucks, with the neoprene do they get clammy when really cold as in standing in a foot of slush ice fishing. my lacross need replacing, the tops are worn thru to the gortex, not leaking yet but getting there.  i cant wear neoprene gloves as they fill with clammy sweat and freeze up on me

Honestly don't know, it doesn't get that cold here in the South. It's in been in the 20s all week and I haven't had any issues with sweating in them and I am a very hot natured person.

been looking at these for a while, very hesitant. i have to be careful of overheating when the temp is down way past zero. get wet in the morning and the day is a wreck. the canvas top gortex lacrosse work but i only get a few years from them before they start to fray
ive been told ice fishing is just sitting there, but pull a sled with gear, cooker, food etc while carrying a 35 pound auger a few miles in two foot of snow with a foot of slush as a base is going to kill me someday. when that happens i want to be warm and dry
