Yet the responsibility for what he does with that authority is everybody else's fault.

“When somebody is President of the United States, the authority is total.” - President Donald Trump, during his press conference, just now.

    WTF
Also a quote from today's circus:  'The President has the power to do what the president has the power to do', which is truthy.

    100% authority, 0% responsibility.

If two-thirds of the states listen to the medical community, and one-third listen to the president, this thing will drag on until ALL Americans who would've died from this virus, have.  Damn.

Was it someone on this forum that said state-by-state lockdowns make as much sense as a peeing section in the kiddie pool?

Glad to see Democratic governors working on regionalizing their easing of restrictions. Seems like a logical approach.

It’s interesting that our President never took the responsibility for restricting activity. Consistently said it was a state issue. Now he wants to control when and how they decide to ease restrictions.

I’m happy to see governors taking charge of their states.

They're doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Will be interesting to see how many Republicans will be supporting federalism/"states rights" in this matter.
You know damn well they would ALL be very vocal in support of it if a Democrat was sitting in the Oval.

The promises they made in early March at the summit with all the business leaders has yet to produce the first result.

Regardless of where you fall on all of this politically, I hope we can all agree that the science is paramount and decidedly apolitical.    Along those lines I found this recent interview of Michael Osterholm to be fairly sobering:

    https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/podcasts-webinars/episode-3

For those who don't know, Osterholm is arguably (with Fauci) one of the leading scientists in this space.  He was part of the recent team that contributed to the report from the National Academies on the efficacy of masks in the public space.  It's a long interview, but worth your time.

I wish it would happen soon. Rand Paul too. That guy is a Trump wannabe.

Get Matt Jones's book on Mitch....."Mitch Please!" to understand how he has divided this country and sold out his Commonwealth and America, using hate as his only message. It offers a very realistic look at what politics has become during his time as Senator.

House vs Home. His house is not far from my home. We live less than one block from his house.

He has a house here to fulfill a legal obligation for being a senator. He is very seldom here. We know when he is, the entire area is layered in security. Local and state police, secret service, and his private security detail.

They will stop your car, question you if you are walking close to his home, (as I have been frequently, while walking my dog), and even come to your home.

He will be gone when he loses an election. He has no desire to live in Kentucky, not the way he has left it.

Amy McGrath is the only candidate that I've sent any donations to, this election cycle.  Her campaign letters/posts on farcebook have always stated she's within 1% of mitch's numbers, but it couldn't be that same exact number month after month.  From where you're standing, Ron, what are her chances?

I will be sending letters to the editor of all the major papers in Kentucky about a month before the election, pleading for his ouster and signing them "Botch, Capt USAF (Ret), Registered Republican since 1978".

    @Botch

Doubtful any democrat will ever replace Mitch, as @g8golfer had mentioned previously. Outside of Louisville and Lexington and one area in Northern KY, the rest of the state is in lockstep with Mitch, and it comes down to three things; God, Guns and Babies.

The only way to get Mitch wedged out is having a republican beat him in the primary. Tough task. The gentleman running against Mitch is a retired Marine officer, farmer, and very intelligent. I went downtown on the steps of Mitch's office to listen to this man. He begged for Mitch to come out and speak to the people gathered outside. He refused.

I will vote for that guy. I think Mitch is a bigger crook than Trump is an idiot.
