@The Cen-Tex SmokerThat's why God designed you with that opposable thumb!  You can only need one arm to drink a beer.  The last however many years have prepared you for this exact moment.  Glad you're on your way to being on the mend.  Go easy after that.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker I'm quite sure you have an few alternatives for the drug departure.  You can even get a head-start.
Thanks for the update.  Hope the recovery process comes in ahead of schedule and with less pain.  That said, I'm sure the PT will not be fun.
Not looking forward to PT for sure. @20stone has many metal parts in his body from many years of doing dumb things. He gave me some sage advice. He said when your PT bends, twists, pokes, or prods something and asks "does this hurt?" You always say "yes". Apparently they take it personally if you do not

Surgery on the wing done yesterday afternoon. Resting comfortably so far. The nerve blocker has not worn off yet so no pain to speak of. Not expecting anything too bad cut have some Percocet to help out if needed. Long recovery ahead but should be semi functioning again in 60 days.

Doc said the worst day would be saturday because that's when all the drugs would be leaving my system and I would be in withdrawal. I thought that was cute. :)
Rest up and heal up. Hoping you're more than semi functional sooner than you think.

SWMBO has two sage bits of advice from her PainandTorture experiences:
    1. Do all the exercises at the clinic and at home as described by your therapist.
    2. Don't over due trying to make the PT shorter; it's a process not a race.
Best of luck with your recovery.

  • Great job guys! Thank you for for all of your efforts! I know it's not necessarily easy to drop everything, leave your home and sometimes spouse/kids and go help a bunch of people you don't even know. Awesome job!

No pain, no gain doesn't apply to rehab.
