I saw a pic on a predominate news site the other day that was clearly fake. A big alligator head was peeking above the water in a neighborhood street. The problem was that the water wasn't even over the curb. C'Mon Man!

Fish, consider yourself lucky.    These little bastards are the bane of anyone (especially drunk - don't ask) in some parts of the south.

They hurt like hell then burn then itch.

we supposedly have them, i just havent seen a nest yet so there cant be many. have had the joy of falling thru the ground into a yellow jacket nest and having a paper wasp nest fall out of a tree just a few feet from me, and the dogs get into a nest with me hitting the lake =) not sure its worse but hundred bee bite days suck, and yes, bees bite under water :o=) seems im not allergic

Wasps and bees are worse than the ants.  You rarely only get one ant bite.

That is great news!! Good for her!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

You guys are reminding me of the time when I discovered that as a 6'3" 13 year old I could bump my head on stuff.  Including that wasp nest on my great aunt's porch.  I got stung by a few dozen of them.  The baking soda seemed to help...

I should be back in town mid-day on Friday. Have her give me a holler if she needs anything.

Will do.  Thanks @20stone.  I think she's good.  As a recent A&M grad she has a number of Aggie friends in the area that have already connected with her, but it is good to know that you and @20stonespice are nearby.   I know not to rely on @caliking for anything.  He's too busy smashing his Rockwood to dust to try to make it not float so he can use it for sandbags.

My buddy Scott who joined us for the last AWSS has some employees at the two hotels that he manages in Houston who have lost everything.  He's making a list of their needs and I'm going to have my daughter acquire some stuff at my expense and deliver it to help them out.

Surprised how close this new record is to the previous record which was set during a storm in 1978.

It's a fluid number while the storm is still here.
