Wondering why the Space Force soldiers need camo.
I’m more interested in why the American Flag is on Velcro.
Easier to switch when you change rank, wash uniforms, etc.....I think

Yup, take the patch off when you wash it, then stick it back on. Also, having white on the flag, if it gets dirty it can be replaced without buying a whole new blouse, which are expensive.

Do you find that long wet braises in your cast iron removes the inner seasoning?
I haven't noticed any problems. The only problem I had tonight was no leftover beef.

I wonder the same about the Navy and their blue cami. I live close to a shipyard and an Air Force vase. Except for a few specialist units , neither need camo.
The US Navy quit using the blue camo  last year. They now use a green camo like everyone else.

And that's an improvement? Why use camo at all? If the ship goes down or they fall off then they will be hoping that they are wearing high visibility yellow or traffic cone orange. Same reason that I wouldn't have a white car if I moved to snow country.

Not sure that's a real issue.

The real answer to all the camo questions is simple:  All other branches (Space Force included) want to be Army!

    That is all

I will admit that the Navy really lost it when the leadership decided to become "a me too" service and go over to the dark side.  At least now if you fall overboard you won't blend in with the ocean as much.  So there's that.  =)

    Proud daddy right here!
This is awesome Jason. Proof to the world what excellent parents and a wonderful, nurturing home you two have provided for Justin.

Congrats on a task, very well done.

Wondering why the Space Force soldiers need camo.
I went through the summaries of the FY20 NDAA when it finally got signed.  First, of all ten of my MILCON projects, nothing got funded (out of the four years I've been in this job, only one ever got funded, last year, and those monies were taken for the wall).  Definitely time to retire.
I also reviewed the sections on the creation of the Space Force; $75M was set aside for it.  The law specified that the current Commander for the USAF Space Command would be the Commander of the new Force, and about 2/3rds of the personnel from Space Command would be transferred to the new Space Force.  Additional billets: zero.
The $75M will barely pay for the above insignia, new letterhead, and probably a new sign for the building (I didn't see a new building, but it may be coming). The only impact this will have on the flyboys is an additional vote on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  I also have no idea what the remaining 1/3rd of Space Command personnel are going to be doing.
I have some definite thoughts on the whole goatrope but I don't want to sink this thread, so I'll shut up.   ;)

Had not used the Blu-ray player in a couple years, ended up rewiring a bunch of the entertainment system trying to get it to work.

Then watched Ford vs Ferrari....man, what a great flick. Joker is next in the queue.

I took some of these down yesterday afternoon in a closet to paint, now I get to put them back up in about an hour.  Agree, these things are terrible.

It snowed yesterday, and I finally got around to shoveling my driveway this afternoon.  I saw these in my back yard, and can't for the life of me figure out what caused them.  Any ideas?
