Keep that bottom vent closed to get your fire to spread for even grilling.

Yep-and the last time I went to fully shut the bottom vent (and the LBGE dome open-a key piece of the even grilling set-up) I had quite an event given the top-heavy nature of the rig. Most expensive paella cook I have had and hopefully will never experience again. A Humpty-Dumpty event but nailed the cook on the SBGE-audibles were well in play. FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

I never took it up (long digression risk here about pressure of expectation and freedom of choice as the youngest child...)
He managed to 'upskill' my son for a one-off contribution as the brass section for a school show. That made all three of us happy.

The area I live in is subject to bad inversions in the wintertime; if the air isn't moving, and its cold enough, all the pollution just collects between the mountains.
This is from my driveway, not Mumbai or Beijing; imagine you guys in SLC are experiencing the same...
Just stepping out the door reeks of auto exhaust, and today's the worst I've seen since I moved here in '95. Was planning on grilling hamburgers on the Egg today, probably shouldn't. Ugh.
