One of my work brother's wife is having a double mastectomy today. My wife signed up to do a food train for the family. Trying to figure out something to cook them.
I do these cooks very often, mostly I do Roasts of some sort, and provide items that they can use after the first meal for sammies, burritos, tacos, nachos, etc.

You feed them and their family several meals that require very little effort to produce. I usually plan the sides to coincide with the original meal that may be used putting everything together. (i.e. slaws for toppings, etc.)

It works out. Then if there are leftovers, you can make stews, chilies, whatever...quickly and easily while visiting, or helping around the house.

Life with the new job has calmed down long enough to sneak a 4 day weekend.

Just got back from Kentucky. Got to catch up over drinks and waaaayyyy too many bottles of wine with @YukonRon and Suzy while doing the bourbon trail thing.

You two definitely married up. I think we all did.
Truly, there was only one direction for me to go.

You sir, way out kicked your coverage. We love Sruti, and are thankful she married you, raising your game infinitely.

You are a good man, Ashish. I am made better by those who let me hang out with them.

    Thank you.

Watching the start of today's Marlin Tournament

We will be going for Tuna and Dorado later this week
@l@lkapigian  Not going for the pointy noses?  The striped marlin fishing down there is off the charts!
Much better eating with tuna and mahi though...

Regardless, hope your lines are tight all day long and only rock a little side to side.
Take lots of pictures and post them up when you get back. Be safe!

Heck...  you might have a tuna on and have a marlin go after the tuna.  It is an awesome sight to see that happen.

    tight lines...

Thank you for the tips. We have never done one before. My wife signed us up through the department's wives group and we don't personally know these folks. I was going to do as you suggested and do a PP or a chuck roast. The only hitch in the plan is I work graveyard on Friday (Satuday morning) and won't be able to tend to the grill much on Saturday. May just start it and have her watch it through the day.

@coltsfan Is that a commercial set-up?  How big an operation does that support?  Looks like spaghetti to my untrained eye.

It's for a relatively small operation (<15 end users). Everything below the blue spaghetti on the left is related to the fiber optics coming into the office space. Just a couple servers, a battery backup system, firewall and a network switch.

Those zip ties give me anxiety :) Velro is your friend.

Nothing worse that going into someone else's environment and having to cut zip ties
