  • SWMBO and I had a blast in telluride (winter season).  She hit the spa and I hit the slopes, but we really enjoyed the ski town (and gondolas to get you from point a to point b).

The Detroit style pizza place was amazing.
Appreciate the tip.  Lived in CO (Vail and Denver) for 35 years, haven't been to Telluride since I was in college.

Planning on eating my body weight in edibles, sipping good tequila and sitting in the hot tub and looking at stars all night.  One of the things I miss most about Vail is the stars.  We have so much light pollution here in town you'd almost never know there were any stars left.
  • Let the cook drive the friggin cow!

    Or something like that.

One day I’m going to supply the brown water and go check out your stick burner, @lousubcap - seems like a fun toy

  • Does the regulator on the Roccbox work well enough to bake a NY style pie?  I know it makes a killer Neapolitan though
    We’ll find out ;)

Gozney put out a video a couple of months ago with their take on New York Style. Their cook time was a between  4 and 5 minutes so yeah, their regulator also allows a "low and slow" pie.

Digging out my BGE purchase receipt from 2011.

    The inevitable?

Loaded it back up with lump for some baked potatoes and kabobs later.

My firebox is so collapsed my grid slopes to the back. I think I’ll finally file a claim.  If I took it out I’m not sure how many pieces it would be.

We just moved in May so I know exactly where my receipt is so just going to get it taken care of and store the new box until I need it.  This crack is nothing for now!

The dealer I bought my egg from already sent off the claim, the guy who helped me sold me my egg 8 years ago.

Obviously a cracked firebox doesn’t stop the egg.

I kept seeing this reference to DBU on game day this morning... but really?  Each team has ~500 total yards. Not sure either defense is that stout

Telluride is my happy place, but never been there this time of year.

+1 for Brown Dog Pizza, stupid good Detroit style pan pizza. Also get a steamed burger at Steamies (dispensary in same building fwiw)

We really enjoy going to the bar at Allred's at the mid station gondola for happy hour and snacks. Same bartender (Paul) for the last 3 years and he makes an incredible Manhattan. Incredible views of town and great people watching (at least in ski season).

Hope you have a great trip

The buffalo has struck.  No more "nuke 'em til they glow" thread.  Had a much longer shelf-life that I would have guessed.  FWIW-

My wife never uses my knives but one was out last night and she grabbed it to cut something quick. She’s getting stitched up now and has to go to a hand specialist to fix the 2 tendons.

I guess now that the threat of Dorian has passed, there was no longer any need to continue a discussion of possibly nuking hurricanes.
