    That’s moving pretty good.
It wouldn’t be bad if it was just rush hour. That’s all driving. It’s 15 miles to work and it takes an hour as long as I leave by 7. Plus I’m OTP north like 10 miles and work in peachtree corners so never really get near Atlanta. Can’t imagine the people inside the perimeter.

I'd be riding through that on a motorbike (not sure what your rules are, though).

Are drivers over there really that stupid? Most here will make space for bikes.

Yes, because 75% of guys that ride motorcycles here are pricks. It’s a shame for the 25% that aren’t too.

It's legal here. Generally motorbikes are regarded as a more efficient in terms of road space / congestion and letting bikes filter (split) improves traffic flow and reduces congestion for everyone.

It sounds really illogical to me. Enough people get killed on motorcycles when they drive in the lane imagine if they could be anywhere.

Do you save statistics for motorcyclists being killled while in their lane? I imagine quite close to zero, apart from when a car driver decides to cross into the lane without looking properly.

    This explains a lot

"California has become the only state in the U.S. that has made lane splitting legal. California Vehicle Code 21658.1 defines lane splitting as “driving a motorcycle between rows of stopped or moving vehicles in the same lane including on both divided and undivided streets, roads and highways.”

and they still have the $#!+iest roads and traffic...

It’s higher than you would think due to the amount of idiots riding bikes over here. So you think it would be safer if they could ride their motorcycles wherever they want on the road? Doesn’t sound like a very good argument.

lately im seeing lane changes so close between bumpers and so aggressive that the only way that its happening is drivers using the blind spot detectors. i dont think some look back with the mirrors. when i say close, less than 6 inches between bumpers. add the cell phone texting and no one is paying attention.  i would prefer to see the bikes cruising slowly down the breakdown lane in stop and go traffic but thats illegal as well

I think lane splitting in California has been legal forever.  Legal in Texas now too, I think.  Once in a while you get an **** on a bike, but you get that regardless.  I think it works and makes sense.
