Congrats @lkapigian you prob have a haul of awards if the judges know anything!
    I second those congratulations.
I am not a mac and cheese guy, but might be if I had some good stuff. Never made it on the egg. Actually, never made it in my life that I can remember other than out of a box when a few kids stayed over.
Maybe one day I will have some of the good stuff.
tried for years to make a great mac and cheese, this is the one that did it for me

Okay. This recipe sounds incredible.  I just have to delete the nutmeg from it. Not a fan of that stuff and can pick out the smallest amount of it in any recipe.

just double up on the bacon. the gorganzola is strong enough to get rid of the cheese roux flavoring that i dont like in "adult" mac and cheeses.

that's a lot like what I do - nutmeg, I do use Homemade Bacon and I sub bacon fat for the butter in the roux, most of the time I make ahead and cold smoke with applewood

Steak was on sale. Not a great selection, but steak nonetheless.

    Surprising my son.......

Don't know what he did to deserve that but he will be challenged to keep his future buy(s) equal to or better than the ground floor bench-mark.  Impressive!

  • Not all that unlike @Dyal_SC been up for a while with my son. In the ER, in fact. He has strong bouts of reflux and it seems to induce hypoxia... and I wasn’t ok with how long it lasted.

Of course once you get to the ER it’s not reproducible do they look at you sideways. Oh well.

Leg day at the gym. Don’t know how much this is (owner thinks bar weighs more than 45) I deadlifted it 8 times. It’s nothing monumental but it’s a PR for me :-)
Posted back in NOV 2018 - found out the trap bar weighs 50 pounds so this was a 45-35-25-10-5 per side so 290lbs for 8reps in the original post

today I did 370 for 10 reps so just proud of my progress in 10months time

don’t know if there’s many/any powerlifting enthusiasts in the community but it’s a very satisfying sport as long as you’re smart and don’t snap your back :-)

Just listened to a couple podcasts recently posted by a friend (USNA grad, yes I have friends w those credentials).  He is interviewing his Dad, CAPT(R) Richard Stratton who spent 6.5 years in the Hanoi Hilton.

    Holy fook.

It’s a great and humbling listen.

He has two posted w several more to come as a way to record an oral history via contemporary means to help the younger gen learn about the Vietnam War and one man’s unique experiences.

Its what happens when people who are "old" (older than 20 apparently) exert moderate force to an object or lift an object heavier than 50lbs

Their breadsticks and Alfredo sauce  are addictive.

Just finished frying all the chicken. 30 cents per leg. 👍🏼
