you could really crank em out with a cnc router and lathe, but I suppose if there wasn't some type of therapeutic caressing of chunks of wood, you would just buy plastic ducks...  I'm drunk

Quite true. When you start a new business, there is no need for policies then people taking the pee gradually means that you have to nail things down in writing.

Gotta say, really glad I took the leap last April and joined Big Switch Networks. It's been a fun ride so far.
Does being a "Rockstar" make you the Keith Richards of Big Switch Networks?

changed vaca days a few years back from a military standard of hours worked to hours earned which was 12 days off. changed it to 3 weeks plus sick days because it was easier on the books, easier to explain, should be hassle free.  one of the guys is beetched because he thinks he is getting screwed right now because of the change :o  never got around to putting the vaca upgrade in the book =) how to explain to someone that 3 weeks is better than 12 days

Lot of talk in my world about ethical decision making, with values being the reference point and not policy.  While the concept is appealing the evidence base is not there to convince people to fully move that way yet.

Sadly, a large majority of the people I work amongst prioritise sticking to policy and setting complex processes over the outcome.  The Nike philosophy is an anathema.

Just put these on an hour ago for a bbq wedding shower tomorrow, I had planned on running 5 at one time but my grill extender didn’t pan out. I’ll be putting 2 more on later today once these are done, good thing I have plenty of beer and rum, should be a long night! The guys are coming later with wings and a beer restock so it might get a little sideways towards the end of this thing!

Fellows you ever have something weird happen that you can’t figure out? I had one this morning. Received a large envelope from overseas.

No name of sender on it. However I noticed some writing on the inside of the envelope. This is under or on the inside of where my name and address is written. Also they put a 1 cent stamp on it which makes no sense as this is inside the envelope I posted above.

    They did enclose a note.

Whoever it is, they know I’m a fan of the R41.

It’s got me scratching my head.

I can’t recall who posted the original recipe, but these give an almost fried feel to them. Been about a year since my last go at em, so figured why not today!

Outside enjoying a 83 degree / 35% humidity evening. A rarely around these parts in August.
I know the feeling brother. Our high today was only 93 and humidity was only 82%. It felt like the first day of winter to us. I hope the temp and humidity keeps falling. But in Dixie, that’s a gamble of long odds.
