Great pit as well. Hard to find anyone who has anything negative to say about them over on the Brethren.

Been there. I'm 100% sure you'll do a far better job restoring it.WeberWho said:I found a used 12" Globe meat slicer for my buddy for $150. I was able to snag it 3 minutes after it was posted. It's a well used meat slicer that came out of a cafe but for the price it should clean up and run like new. (He returned a Chinese big box store slicer last Christmas and said no thanks.) This should handle whatever he throws at it.
I'll have to throw up some pictures after I'm done cleaning/lubricating everything.

Roughing out the helix on this part. Replacing a cast one thats close to 100 years old. Can't imagine how this stuff was made back then without the software we have now.

What CNC is that?poster said:Roughing out the helix on this part. Replacing a cast one thats close to 100 years old. Can't imagine how this stuff was made back then without the software we have now.

Its a Milltronics RH33 3 axis vertical machining center. We have a 4th axis rotary for it as well, but not needed here. Tool room style, so there is no enclosure. Nice for bulky parts like thiskl8ton said:

Still have to make the mold somehow... and drawings by hand, no thanks. Headed to Albuquerque, will be at Sandia all week. Have a grad student with me and he’s never been to New Mexico, so we’re going to try to hit Santa Fe while we’re there, maybe check in on my old friend Gene Hackman."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

On the drive to Santa Fe, take the Turquoise Trail (not the main highway) and hit Shugarman's LIttle Chocolate Shop in Madrid.JohnInCarolina said:Headed to Albuquerque, will be at Sandia all week. When you walk in he gives you free samples so you can decide what you want to buy. I usually eat about 1/2 pound of samples before I decide. Then I buy a couple of pounds of stuff.

Despite many trips to the area, I’d somehow never heard of this place. I’ve driven the Turquoise Trail route up to SF too.
Anyway, sadly it seems he’s not open until Friday and after we’re set to return. I’ve made a note of it and will try to hit them up the next time I’m out. Thanks for the tip!"I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike
