Best of 3. Run it back.
That was a great game! I could watch a best of 3 of those two teams!

Thank you! The OXO mandolin slicer makes quick and consistent work of it and just some regular vegetable oil.
Look good, but you guys are all about the fries.
Chips, proper chips - is what you really want.   By proper I mean British chippy chips (OK, Belgian by origin, but hey - Belgium, know what I mean?)

Go here for super posh chips by our very own @Stormbringer

Triple cooked and all that,  mmmmm baby.

Two-thirds deep in to the season and I’ll be honest, it’s one for the true enthusiasts - because it’s not exactly scintillating stuff.  Liverpool have plateaued but are clear of Arsenal and everyone else is kind of following along.  City look every inch the spent force, Man Utd & Spurs continue to befuddle and the three weakest teams are where they should be.  Maybe Forest in the CL next season is the story.  Yeah, not exactly put fire in your belly that - has it?

    Tonight

Leicester v Brentford - so a home win will put the Foxes out of the danger, even if only briefly - but they are a bit rubbish.  The Bees rotate through all three results and are due a draw,  even so this smacks of 0-1

    Saturday

Everton v Man Utd - a weird time space continuum slip sees Wee Davie Moyes back at Everton and importing that 7th place magic of yesteryear, and now welcoming the club where it all went wrong for him and them. Had Sir Jim not sacked Fergie, his attendance at the match would have forced open a whole new furious Scotsman vortex. Oh, the score? 1-1

Bournemouth v Wolves - the Old Gold are working hard to sustain their current head above the water situation. While precarious, recent form on the pitch indicates survival  is more than likely.  But the Cherries will see three points for the taking which slingshots them towards the giddy heights of the top four.  2-0

Arsenal v West Ham - The Hammers are having a poor, poor season by all measures.  Not in danger of relegation but as meagre as it could be. The Gunners are shorn of talent through injury but will find a way. 1-0

Fulham v Palace - it was one of those ‘didn’t deserve to lose’ results for the mighty Eagles last week, but that’s the worst form of comfort when you check the league table afterwards. The Cottagers are no pushover and foster hopes of a late run for the European spots. 2-1 after Palace take the lead (again).

Ipswich v Spurs - the Tractor Boys’ eight draws have kept them in sight of the shore, but the tide is against them.  As Spursy as Spurs are, a second defeat of the season to this opponent seems freakish. All results except 0-0 are up for grabs. 2-2

    Southampton v Brighton - 0-3. Meh.

Villa v Chelsea - four draws and defeat from the last five has flattened Villa’s hopes for this season and frankly The Chels are the epitome of unpredictability. Tough to call, low scoring, so 1-1

    Sunday

Newcastle v Forest, Toon have lost two in a row (3 in the last 4) to once again dispell hopes of the sovereign wealth manifesting in to imperils league position. Forest already have enough points to declare the season a runaway success.  A win here puts them at 50 - and dangerously close to assured Euro football next season.  Possibly the best game of the weekend, here.  Five goals to be shared and I’ll slump towards home advantage, but it’s too close to call. 3-2

Man City v Liverpool,  could be a classic, could be a damp squib.  Away win takes the Reds a long way towards the title, shifting the biggest risk towards self-implosion as opposed to being caught. City go on proving that nothing is forever. 1-2

I am sure somewhere amongst that lot is a gem.  Best of luck finding it.  Tally ho!

Thanks as always.  I'll take on the challenge of finding the gem.

I think Arsenal v West Ham and Villa v Chelsea will both be better than you expect.

Just for symmetry I'll suggest that each of them will end 3-2 with the home teams coming out on top.

    Emergency exit fence gate

I'm frozen in with ice right now and somehow the propane guy delivered 650 dollars American to the house down 14 ice covered concrete steps and then around the house to the tanks not shoveled. Three friggin weeks of propane.....

Slicing mini potatoes for an au gratin tonight.

    Queued up the sauce, too.

    Nice slicing job.

Thank you. I am in awe of those with good knife skills. I like to work at it, but the biggest difference between the home setting and what pros in the restaurant setting is time. Consistency can be easy when you have the luxury of time.

And grabbing a bite here and there. While the pint of ale and crisps was not worthy of posting, the steak and ale pie with mashed and vegetables was almost worthy of its own post.  It was fantastic.
