Trying out The NY Times cast iron roasted chicken technique tonight.
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1015812-roast-chicken
Used some EVOO, salt, onion powder and lime pepper. This baby is poppin’, so here’s hoping I don’t smoke the house up too bad.*Edit*Didn’t take long. Probably won’t do this inside again, as it’s a bit smoky still. Skin did pretty good. Pretty sure the speckled black spots are from the onion powder. Probably won’t use that again either. All in all, not too bad. Overshot the IT a little. -
Roasted turkey breast with mashed and gravy. Hoping there is left over turkey for a turkey club tomorrow.XL BGE

I purchased a sheet cutter for my wife for Christmas a few years ago and I gave it a go this morning. I sliced up some zucchinis for noodles for lasagna.
I tried a couple variations of drying the zucchini noodles since zucchini is 95% water. I tried a dehydrator for one of the pans of lasagna. It worked okay. I found salting the zucchini noodles was the easiest way to draw moisture from the noodles.
Here's a pan being smoked on the BGE tonight. The other pan I dropped off at my parents.
Plated.

@GrateEggspectations - you have trained her well.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

@GrateEggspectations I love that instead of saying something like " look at what we made for dinner, Dad!" she says "put this on your bbq forum".
It says something about the feeling of community, and family, here. Please let her know I'd house that taco in a hot minnit.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

Had a Blackstone breakfast fail. Got the bacon and sausage done fine, hash browns were on and being pressed when I ran out of propane. At least they were edible. Eggs never made it and there was too much going on inside to do them on the stove.Lesson learned, always have a spare propane tank.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas

^^^ I disliked. Learned my lesson back in my gasser only days. I now have three full tanks on standby, mainly use propane for pizza oven but primary reason is the dual fuel generator for emergency. Unlike gasoline, propane keeps almost 'forever'.canuckland
