    Have you by chance read the indictment? It helps clear up the free speech angle that you and others really (mistakenly, I would add) want to be at the center of this.

    Former President Trump’s legal team is framing his indictment in the 2020 election interference investigation as an attack on his right to free speech, suggesting a forthcoming First Amendment defense. Experts suggest such a defense has little merit given the range of steps taken by Trump and his allies that prosecutors say transformed speech into action. These actions include enlisting fake electors to sign false certificates; attempting to use the Justice Department to launch election fraud probes; and pressuring Vice President Pence to disrupt Congressional proceedings on Jan. 6, 2021.     Bill Barr yesterday said that while former President Trump can “tell people that the election was stolen, when he knew better … That does not protect [him] from entering into a conspiracy.” “All conspiracies involve speech, and all fraud involves speech.     Setting up a string of fake electors across multiple states sure is an interesting form of speech.  Do you put out a newsletter for people to subscribe to?

    We're getting shreds of this story over here and it all seems very complicated.  But then again I have market standard attention span of a male, so the end of a news item is quite the stretch.
    So, I turn to you as reliable sources; WTF is going on? 
    We had our problems with BoJo and the Trussinator, but the replacement, a boring low profile economist is just getting on with business.  This place is, still - a sh*tshow following the BREXIT lunacy but it is fraction more tolerable without a total buffoon seeking headlines constantly.

    Hang on a minute.   It's all a distraction ploy to kept David Grusch out of the news, right?   The Donald was President, so he knows the truth about ET and friends, so can't allow this it all to leak out.  Am I right?

    "When federal prosecutors this week singled out six allies of DONALD TRUMP as co-conspirators in the then-president’s alleged attempts to subvert democracy, one person was notably not included — one major player in all this and someone MIKE PENCE’s chief of staff MARC SHORT has now called a “ringleader” in the Jan. 6 effort, according to a new WSJ report: MARK MEADOWS.

    First, a few things worth noting:

    — Meadows, the former White House chief of staff, was on the line when Trump asked Georgia’s secretary of state to “find” him the 11,780 votes he needed to defeat JOE BIDEN, who lawfully won the state.

    — He privately cheered those Republicans appointing fake slates of electors, and connected Trump to JEFFREY CLARK, the DOJ official who came up with a blueprint to overturn Georgia’s election results. (Clark is now reportedly a co-conspirator.)

    — Extensive reporting has shown that Meadows simultaneously encouraged Trump’s conspiracies in front of the president even while he raised at least some level of skepticism about them behind the scenes.

    — Through it all — during the plotting to try and overturn the election, the direct lead-up to Jan. 6 and the violence itself — Meadows was by Trump’s side.

    But, but but: And yet, Meadows is barely mentioned in special counsel JACK SMITH’s 45-page indictment, as WSJ’s Siobhan Hughes notes this morning.

    So what gives? Could he be cooperating with prosecutors? Could he be indicted next? That’s unclear."
