I can imagine how Trump is probably confused about how he's getting punished, when the pattern in our nation's history has been pretty much no president ever has before. The usual response to obvious crime and misbehavior, if not outright treason, has been for the next guy to say "Now is a time for healing, not division." This self-serving explanation has had to inspire confidence in every office holder, if not the populace. In fact, it's the rare member of our countries elite who ever pays a price for incompetence or law breaking, judging from the massive payoffs many a worthless CEO gets or the continued employment of most major media personalities.

Federal Judge Aileen M. Cannon, overseeing former President Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents, issued an order yesterday instructing any lawyer who wants to take part in the case to start obtaining a security clearance by Tuesday. Neither of the lawyers who appeared with Trump at his arraignment has active security clearances.
