@gmanrva - Regardless of the banquet, the venue wins. Great setting. Enjoy the gathering.
Happy Thanksgiving!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

We are doing a couple of SRF Prime Rib Roasts. I am going to smoke them with pecan, and will use some gunpowder rub, which has become my go to. My Beautiful Wife will be baking all day, while I take care of the egg (and a couple of Calistoga cabs)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Stay safe, stay well, and thank you all for the friendships I have made here.
Aubert, is awesome. Stay safe and enjoy this day. We deserve it.

My first day cooking since the last 8 procedures on my back. It was great to be able to fire up the egg after being flat on my back the last few weeks. This thread is awesome, and I am enjoying the images and the comments.
Enjoying the heck out of this day, and so very thankful for the rare opportunity to have become friends with all of you.
Brighter days are ahead for us all, and always remember “Life is what you make it.” You all have made mine much better, and for that I am always thankful.
Celebrate this day.
Peace,
Ron and Suzy.

I just put a rib roast on the egg (had turkey last night). Wifey just made a cranberry dish and has the Kitchen Aid mixer going for mashed potatoes now. She’s making several other sides as well. Easy and relaxed Thanksgiving here with just the four of us.

I have to admit I don't watch the dome temp as closely after I get the cook started.I guess it was a little misleading and in accurate, now that I'm thinking through my answer to your question, to say an average temperature of 275.My intended cooking temp was 325. I should have given the Egg a little more time to stabilize before loading it up. The temperature stayed at 240-245 for about an hour after I put the bird on the Egg. It worked its way higher with a little help from me fiddling with the vents. For at least the last hour of the 3 hours 15 minutes it took to cook, the grid reading was 325 or higher. It turned out pretty well. Moist, tender, and tasty. The family was happy.Huntsville, AL

I finished injecting turkeys at 2am this morning. I lit the offset at 7:30 this morning. We're finally about to start our own Thanksgiving here at the house.
Turkeys:
A turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, vegetables, rolls, and a pumpkin pie for a couple families.
I just finished dropping off a couple meals for my parents and a coworker. My coworker had no idea about the meal I left it on her front steps. I just received her text:
It seems like a success. My wife was a huge help. It was very much overwhelming at times but we pushed through it. I couldn't even imagine running a restaurant. Spatchcocked and egged on Tuesday. Heated in the oven at 170 while I did the rest of the meal at a relaxed pace as it was just the two of us at home.
Looking forward to the sandwiches.Ubi panis, ibi patria.
