@The Cen-Tex Smoker said something in another thread just now that made me think for a minute. What would be your Top 10
”Favorite Food List” it can be something you’ve cooked, family favs, or at a restaurant. If it’s a restaurant name it here also.

Here is mine.

    Chargrilled oysters
    Sushi
    Rack of lamb
    Crab stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp
    Mussels au gratin
    Spaghetti Carbonara
    Bo Burger; the one with the fried egg on top
    I'm out now but the list is always evolving save for the top spot  B)  


    Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

    1.  Huevos Rancheros (green) from the "Little Anita's" chain in Albuquerque
    2.  Beef brisket (my own)
    3.  Sushi
    4.  Mom's goulash (not hungarian, macaroni/beef/tomato/spices)
    5.  A smoked whitefish mousse wrapped in thin sheets of smoked salmon, from "The Browns" restaurant in Picadilly Circus, London, and all the accoutrements (tied for best single meal I've ever had)
    6.  #8 Phò, Kim Long restaurant, Layton UT (just learned they survived 'Rona Wave 1, will be visiting tomorrow or Sat!)  
    7.  Paella (a treat not suitable for single eaters, sadly...)
    8.  Hot-n-Sour Soup, Little China, Beavercreek OH
    9.  A Turkish dish, in Ankara: wonderful toasted bread halves, set in front of you, ladled with melted butter, a huge pile of shaved lamb, a red sauce, and a bit more melted butter (the other tie for best single meal I've ever had).  Wish I could remember its name...
    10. Alder plank smoked salmon, both Seattle and here.  
     
    I will think of more, and re-arrange, tomorrow.

    1 Jambon formage baguette and a black coffee from Bouchon (it’s a family tradition in Yontville when my family went to Napa)
    2 Dessert trio (chocolate, grilled peaches, butter pecan ice cream)
    3 fried chicken southern breakfast with all the fixins
    4 Fried eggplant ratatouille 
    5 Grilled oysters and crab legs, butter and a French Loaf
    6 pork baby back ribs w/ peach molasses bbq sauce
    7 Fried green tomato BLT with pimento cheese
    8 cheeseburger and fries (I’ve got one in my head)
    9 corn tacos and chili rellanos
    10) corn...by way of Kentucky.

    7. Chicken fried steak w/cream gravy and mashed potatoes
    8. Green chili chicken enchiladas w/green chili polenta
    9. Thanksgiving turkey with all the goodness
    10. A good charcuterie and cheese board

    In no particular order, apart from dividing things we make at home vs things from restaurants:

    Beef bourganion using boneless short ribs, over gruyere grits
    Our pasta sauce (basically my wife’s marinara recipe w/ sausage, ground meat, onions, peppers and mushrooms)
    Roast chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, peas & Pearl onions in cream
    Collard greens with kimchi

    Jamon Iberico de Bellota - specifically at Jaleo in DC and Curate in Asheville
    Gambas al ajillo (shrimp in garlic), Jaleo, DC
    Omakase from Sushi Taro in DC
    Scallop with brown butter & dashi, Le Bernardin 
    Pastrami Reuben from Essen Room Deli, Pikesville, MD (with latke and sour cream on the side)
    Black Russian bagel with cream cheese, nova lox, lettuce, onion, and caper from Goldberg’s, Pikesville, MD

    So many fantastic flavor combos it’s hard to pick just 10.  Having these foods with family and friends can increase their enjoyment. 

    -prosciutto and melon
    -a home grown heirloom tomato and Mayo sandwich
    -grilled octopus
    - great ramen
    -perfectly grilled and seasoned ribeye steak
    -a true Neapolitan style pizza from a wood burning oven
    - soft shell crabs
    -bacon- in a thousand different ways
    - capers, lemon, wine, butter- on fish, mussels, chicken, etc
    -Penang curry

    + chargrilled oysters, tandoor cooked foods, pasta in so many forms, etc

    How do you roast your oysters? I have a KBQ and roasted oysters sound awesome

    @Dawgtired I'll see if I can come up with it. I really don't think it's any different than what you could probably find online. I remember trying it as a kid and falling in love with it. My mom usually makes it on special occasions. So I'm sure the sentimental value is much higher for me with the dish as it would be to anyone else. I'll track it down either way and post it.

    @Dawgtired I’ve tried several recipes. I’m a fan of oysters Rockefeller. The main thing the wood oven does over the egg is the heat from a robust fire rolls over the top of the oysters to broil the top. On a grill the heat is from the bottom. In my opinion it makes a significant difference in the way the oyster turns out.

    Tomato basil crostinis as made by my friend Scott.  It's game changing and I still can't get it right when I do it...
