The path has changed to the North Carolina/South Carolina border. It is still rated as a Catagory 4.

I am in a different area from this hurricane, but the answer is no. I was promised yesterday that they will be here to put up the metal on Monday. I will post it under New Roof : Part Troi. We are very far inland so wind most likely won't be a big problem for us but local forecasters are talking about a lot of rain, local flash flooding and if we get any wind trees could be a problem once the ground is soaked. A more northern track would be better for us here in the mountains. Hopefully folks on the coast will get ready and run if told to.
I'm only hungry when I'm awake!

Here in Knotts Island NC we are prepping for the worst, hoping for the best. Such as, it weakens and moves thru quickly!
Getting gas, water etc and making sure generators and chain saws will start.
If ordered to evacuate, good luck, one road in and out (that may be flooded/closed) just to get to the south end of VA Beach. Then another hour or more to get to the 'parking lot' interstate.

I just tested the chainsaw. Going to pick up my generator from other house on the coast tomorrow. Inland where we are (Richmond, or "Mecca" as Carolinians call it) we are predicting historic flooding and tropical storm winds on top of already saturated ground = widespread power outages from downed trees.Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here. Very Extremely Stable Genius.

They just closed schools for the rest of the week in SC to allow them to be converted to shelters. They’re not fooling around with this one.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.
